Sony Ericsson Welcome Apple to the handset market
16 May 2007 by axxxr While Apple's iPhone is set to hit the US market in two months, Sony Ericsson have said they are not worried about potential lost sales and they welcome their new competitor.
Mats Lindoff, Sony Ericsson's CTO commented that if there are only five brands in the worldwide handset market, the market will be too monotone. He highlighted that the company already stands firm in the Walkman handset market and most of Sony Ericsson's high-end handsets support 3G services. Second, as bad as this may sound the US is far behind the rest of the world, especially when it comes to Europe, so who cares if 3G is not in US phones.
