Technical details:
The Times has teamed up with Sony Ericsson to search for the U.K's best cameraphone photographer.

As well as the accolade, the winner will receive a whole host of prizes. Their shot will be printed in The Times. It'll also be displayed in a top London gallery along with other finalists from the competition. They'll spend a day with a Times photographer to learn tips from a master. And, what's more, they'll also win an all-expenses-paid trip to capture their very own news shots.

In addition, the winner will be given the chance to represent the UK as their shot will be entered into Sony Ericsson's International Cameraphone Photographer of the Year competition. This could also net them a once in a lifetime all-expenses-paid trip for two.

The competition's open until November, so you've got plenty of time to get a good picture. Between now and then, our panel of influential news and photography judges, including the Times Picture Editor, will choose the best photo every week. This will displayed in The Gallery. From these weekly top shots, a monthly winner will be chosen.  They'll appear in The Times' T2 supplement on Monday. And they'll also receive a Sony Ericsson cameraphone.

So how do you enter? Start by choosing your subject. Whether it's the Queen's official birthday celebrations this Summer or your son's first steps, you can snap big events or something that's news to just you and your friends or family. Click here for details on entry categories.

Once you've got your shot, MMS it to 07834 885 058 along with your name, age and a daytime telephone number. Don't forget to include a brief description of your shot. What is it? Where was it taken? Entries must be received by November 2, 2006.Click here for full terms and conditions. Timesonline
