Smallest ever Sony Ericsson mobile phone announced
12 May 2004 Sony Ericsson has announced the Premini model for the Japanese market. It’s a DoCoMo model measuring only 90 x 39 x 19 mm.
An external antenna is placed on top of the phone formed as a loop similar to the Sony Ericsson Z200 clamshell model. The talktime is 300 minutes and standby time is 100 hours. Premini has a 5-way navigation key and dedicated buttons for Internet access and email. Premini is made for the DoCoMo network in Japan, and will never reach the European market. The Sony Ericsson Premini ships with the colours silver and black, weights only 69 gram and has as 160 x 128 pixels 65536 colour display. The 69 gram is one gram lighter than the mobile phone unveiled by NEC in February witch was claimed to be the smallest Internet-capable mobile phone.
