"SMS Sugar Man" the world's first mobile phone feature film shot entirely on Sony Ericsson W900 launches its website and its 1st promo.

The world's first feature film shot exclusively on Sony Ericsson W900 cameras has launched its website www.smssugarman.com

The first short promo of SMS Sugar Man has been invited to premier at the Festival Cinema Africano Asia e America Latina, in Milano, Italy, on 22nd March. This is unique recognition for a short promo.

It will be available exclusively at the same time on www.smssugarman.com.

The film is written and directed by Aryan Kaganof (www.kaganof.com), whose weblog is alive with chatter on the film.

Producer Michelle Wheatley: "The launch now of the website is in response to the unprecedented interest received by the film. The website will underpin the whole project; it is both a marketing medium and a distribution platform."

Executive Producers Joel Phiri and Jeremy Nathan, are delighted with the global interest: "The release of the promo is in keeping with our innovative distribution approach. We want to create a global synthetic community way before the film is released in all its various versions."

Given the unprecedented success of the Oscar winning TSOTSI, South African film is paving the way on the global stage.

The story, an original idea of Kaganof's, takes place on Christmas Eve, and is a love triangle with a twist. A feel good story for the modern urban viewer.

The film will be distributed on a variety of media, on Mobile TV, the Internet, theatrical, television and DVD platforms, offering the public maximum access in innovative ways.
