Sony Ericsson unveils the T630
21 October 2003 Sony Ericsson unveiled an upgraded version of the popular T610 today. ![]() Beside the display, there is not much differentiating the T610 and the T630. The exterior looks the same, with the buttons for camera, sound volume, power and Internet located at the same place as the T610. Inside the phone you’ll see that the shortcut menu is gone, replaced by something called “My friends”. My Friends is an extract of your phonebook displayed as a graphical list of your favourite contacts. If your operator provides Instant Messaging service then My Friends automatically expands into an Instant messaging application allowing for easy chat with friends or using a chat room. Both you and your friends can use pictures and text to say what you are up to. The Sony Ericsson T630 uses the Wireless Village instant messaging system. A competitor to ICQ and MSN Messenger.
