25 February 2004
Cannes, France – Last night, the Sony Ericsson T610 camera phone was awarded the prestigious award for "Best handset, terminal or device" during the GSM Association’s 2004 Awards evening at the 3GSM World Congress
"In the opinion of our independent judging panel, the Sony Ericsson T610 is a great phone, which is really easy to use for communication as well as imaging. They believed it opens up access to applications and technologies that people were not using before", says Mark Smith, Communications Director of the GSM Association.
"During its time on the market, the T610 camera phone has grown to become one of the true design classics among current consumer products and together with its great ease-of-use, the T610 deserves to be selected as the best mobile phone," says Jan Wäreby, Executive Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing at Sony Ericsson. "On behalf of our organisation that made this happen, I'm proud and grateful to receive this prominent award, and we take it as a further confirmation of that Sony Ericsson is on the right track with its product family of mobile phones."
