Sony announces the world’s smallest and lightest MiniDV format camcorders the Sony DCR-PC55E and the Sony DCR-PC53E camcorders are scarcely larger than the mini DV cassettes that they use.

All the convenience of DVD recording has been combined with modern styling in the futuristic Sony DCR-DVD7E (DCRDVD7E) camcorder, supporting DVD-R/-RW/+RW compatible formats for shooting and playing back.

These tiny Handycams are intended for daily use, wherever you are, whenever you want. The camcorders are always ready for shooting - the provision of an automatic lens cover means you’ll never miss the action.

Handycam Station and Slide Show Plus
Both models enable you to position your camcorder on the supplied Handycam Station, so that everyone can see the LCD display. This mains powered cradle ensures that your camcorder is always ready to use being connected to your PC or TV. Even more, playing back with Slide show plus function it can be used as a photo frame to keep playing your favorite pictures.

Easy and Convenient
The Sony DCR-PC55E camcorder and the Sony DCR-PC53E camcorder are fully equipped with the latest technologies. A 3.0-inch Hybrid LCD monitor is ideal for viewing video or a slideshow of still images even under high contrast situations.

Modern Design
The Sony DCR-DVD7E camcorder is a modern design with many features. A new way of holding the Sony DCR-DVD7E camcorder, and the record and playback controls have been redesigned to suit this style of operation.

In a departure from normal styling, the Sony DCR-DVD7E camcorder features a 2.5-inch Hybrid LCD monitor on the back face of its round body. This serves as the primary monitoring, framing and playback display for the camcorder.

DVD-R / -RW / +RW Recording Compatibility
The Sony DCR-DVD7E camcorder is capable of recording directly to DVD discs. Formats supported by the new Sony DCR-DVD7E DVD Handycam are DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW for direct recording and DVD-RW and DVD+RW for rewriting. The 8cm DVD Discs used by the Handycam range can be played back on most consumer DVD players.

To view images recorded on DVD+RW on DVD players, without proceeding with the finalization session, images need to be recorded for more than 8 minutes with SP recording mode. Sony does not guarantee the playback of such recordings for all DVD+RW compatible devices.

If the resolution are broadcast quality it will helpfull for professional because it is easy to carry
