The second and last phone announced by Sony Ericsson at the MWC press event was a new model in the Walkman range. It is a small slider model and Sony Ericsson claim it is optimized for video viewing
16 February 2009

The W995 has a 2.6 inch display, 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and face detection. It has a 3.5mm audio jack, shake control and the usual Walkman player media application.

During the same press event, Sony Ericsson announced a new service called Media Go. Media Go will be available at the same time W995 is out. Media Go is a Sony service which will make it very easy to sync media content to W995 (and future SE phones). Media Go will transfer, play and organise music, photos, videos and podcast to and from the W995 to the best quality possible. No need to thing about video frame rates etc.

See, having it all in a single model is not impossible. Good that you have broken out off the walkman-vs-cybershot delimma. Ok just provide better flash and face detection in cybershot and led flash with autofocus on walkman. Good to see barriers being broken. Its about time.

Seems to be the Walkman equivalent of C905. Nice, but nothing really new. (ok, maybe the jack)

Whoah!!! This phone is awesome, hope it will be able to deliver the goods just like it does with the looks. Though the thin slider reminds me of the N95, hmmmm...
