Sony Ericsson will announce on Wednesday its strategy for the future of UIQ, the mobile phone software company it acquired last week

Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications plans to make an announcement Wednesday about its strategy for the UIQ interface that runs on the Symbian mobile phone operating system, Sony Ericsson President Miles Flint said Sunday at a news briefing on the eve of the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona.

Last week, Sony Ericsson completed the acquisition of UIQ Technology, the Swedish company that develops and manages the platform used by the handset maker for its smart phones.

Since the acquisition, rumours have been floating as to whether Sony Ericsson will change the direction of the platform. The manufacturer has built the majority of UIQ-based smart phones on the market. source:arnnet

As you can imagine i can't wait to hear what they are going to say and wonder if they will apologise for their actions or should that be lack of action so far.
