i have the provider's settings what i need is how to, the interface is quite complex

If you have a Blackberry account then you don't need to enter any settings. If you don't have an account then you enter the details into Options/ Advanced options/ TCP/IP Settings

As far as I am aware there is no way to set a proxy on a blackberry.

most of the providers, use a proxy server, so there must be a way to configure it. plus your phone can't guess the ip of the apn itself, unless you have a dns server IP
