I want to remove SIM-lock from my W950i but the link to scripts, needed for XS+ is dead. Can anyone give me working link, please?? Would very appreciate that!! By the way, is it possible to unlock the phone with standard cable that goes with the phone or special service cable is needed? Do I have to have a SIM card from operator, that the phone is locked to in order to unlock it??
Thanks again

As far as I'm aware you cannot remove SIM locks with XS++, it will only flash firmware etc

Cope the whole line into a txt file, save it without word wrap and then then use the write script function on GDFS tab.
Sainty,
For the voda branded one I need a Voda branded GDFS backup

DOH!, nevermind - doubt I'll ever go back to it

If your P1 gets bricked try the following - taken from XS++ Help and Information R1A by gbrooks3 and the XS++ team!!

Flash Repair
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It has become apparent that SEUS may "Kill" your lovely new EPOC smartphone when updating firmware. This usually occurs when the process gets stuck at 9X%.
XS+ now gives you the option of repairing your EPOC smartphone. Simply follow the instructions below.
Step 1.
Connect: Take battery out of phone and put back in (do not turn phone on). Open XS++ and tick the "SMARTPHONE CONNECT" check box. Now press the "Connect" button.
Step 2.
Download the Firmware: XS++ will attempt to connect to your phone and profile it. If your phone is in a dead state, your GDFS may appear corrupted. In this case, you must reflash the CCPU part of the phone.
We have taken the liberty to compile a few "Ressurection Packages" for your benfit.
P1i Ressurection Package
P990 Ressurection Package (Not available yet)
W960 Ressurection Package (Not available yet)
Step 3.
Select this file in the the "Smartphone Flashing" area. DO NOT unzip the file!!
XS++ will read the package contents and label the available CCPU files.
Tick the "Flash CCPU box ONLY!
Step 4.
Press the "Flash PDA" button and wait for XS++ to complete the 2 files flash.
Step 4.
You may now proceed to turn ON your ressurected EPOC smartphone.

I flashed the P1i resurrection package but it always failed on the 8th flashblock and after that the GDFS could not be read and any program refuses to identify the phone (SEUS, kulankendi, davinci, XS++). Before that, the GDFS was recognised.
Any help please?
I do have a GDFS backup but XS++ will just stay there when attempting to restore.

15:17:45| XS++ v3.1 (Darwin) Ready !
15:17:45| Executed on Microsoft Windows XP
15:17:57| Executing SEMC Smartphone Operations!
15:17:57| Please hold boot key ('@' or 'C') and connect device...
15:18:43| Master Port detected: COM3
15:18:43| Slave Port detected: COM4
15:18:43| Opening Port!
15:18:44| Init Master Failed!
i followed the steps on their help file. am i failing to do something else here??
do i need to uninstall SEUS?
EDIT: got it to work, was pressing the back key when it should've been the 7 key. i'm now on WG1 latest firmware!

Hi all!
Thanks to grizlore's advice I managed to find this thread on flashing my P1i's software.
can anyone tell me if it's advisable for me to do this? This is my situation: I have the HK firmware with Chinese pack installed and because of this all my fonts are not anti-aliased. Now I would honestly rather have my anti-aliased fonts so it's easier on the eyes, especially since I hardly type messages in Chinese anyway.
Should I be using XS++ to flash my firmware to a different (I guess a generic world version or something) firmware? or should I just grin and bear the non-anti-aliased fonts?
Any watchouts especially since I'm going from HK firmware to something else? If back up my phone using SE PC Suite, I should be pretty safe already right?
It's my first time to do this so I really wanna take all precautions, and I'm nowhere close to a technician.
Thank you!!

again thanks and happy new year to all!

Just debranded my new W960 using the same method - XS++

@gbrooks, just one quick question: whats the difference between the two GW1 W960 profilesin XS++?
Posted by JAGUY85
I got my P1 today from Plemix and as usual, it has HK or some Asian firmware inside and some of the files are also named in Asian text. How do I successfully change this to some other CDA? And then update?
Posted by waibun_lee
Just about to do this but is CDA162034/10 R3A UK generic? theres no branding on it at all anywhere
cheers

Posted by JAGUY85
I managed to do it finally. Now I have totally removed the HK firmware and running W1.
Updating with SEUS now...
Thanks.

That's the same CDA as I've got - sim free phone from Carphone Warehouse.
Would also like to know if its worth changing it WG1?

hi, im trying for some weeks to "upgrade" my p1i to an w96o, but so far no luck! i don't know what i'm doing wrong, i use xs++ 3.1 darwin...
i tried to use the EPOC Smartphone Operations method, a second check seems liked it works, but when i run SEUS, it says i already have the latest firmware, and prompting with an P1i Image!
i noticed some lines in the log file:
--------------------------------------------------
02:05:26| Warning: IMEI name does not match GDFS name (IMEI:P1 GDFS:P1i)
02:05:26| ...using IMEI name
02:05:26| Profiling EPOC smartphone...
02:05:26| Platform: DB2001
02:05:26| OTP CID: 52
02:05:26| EROM CID: 53
02:05:26| EROM Color: Red
02:05:26| IMEI: xxxxxx <- keep this for myself

02:05:26| Phone ID: P1
02:05:26| Part Number: FAD-3022015-BV
02:05:26| Phone smartphone version: R1C01
02:05:26| Phone software version: CXC162037 R9H004
02:05:26| Processing Unit: CXC162175 R3A01
02:05:26| Organizer: CXC162146 R6E31
02:05:26| CDA: CDA162032/1 R6E29
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
i'm particularly confused by the first line i'm showing here!
i also noticed that i'm not able to edit the "Modify Versions:" data
i surely hope somone knows what i'm doing wrong here! is the fact i have an P1i instead of the P1 the reason this 'upgrade' doesnt work?
thnx in advance

Hi, funny how I see that people are trying to flash their Hong Kong firmware to Generic while I'm trying to do the exact opposite lol.
Anyone have the CDA file for W960 Hong Kong? I need Chinese support since it can't read the chinese characters on my songs.

I am trying to understand how to flash my P990i with XS++: it seems that a guide for using XS++ with smartphones does not exist!
Let's say I downloaded a file P990_DPY_Generic_World1_R9GA001_R5A01_R6E28_R6E28R.rar which contains many files:
ACPU_CDA1620071_R6E28_ROFS
ACPU_SW_PDA_CXC162036 R6E28 HW fp2_1_ROF
CAMERA_Software
CCPU_Signaling_SW_R9GA001_prgCXC162037_RED49

File System_RED49
P990i_DPY_Generic_World1_R9GA001_R5A01_R6E28_R6E28 R.txt
ROFS
What I am supposed to do with it?!?!
After connecting my P990i, I select "Flash" but XS++ seems only to understand ZIP files, so it cannot see the .RAR I just downloaded.
Should I convert it to a .ZIP?
Thanks!

1. Copy the below string into a new notepad text file, 1 line, NO word wrap!
Code: |
gdfswrite:0002079E01080000490109435843313632303337020652394730303703094358433136323137350405523241303309094358433136323130380A0552364432330B0B4344413136323032342F370C03523841000D8C |
2. Save as "Whatever.txt"
3. Go to GDFS page in XS++
4. Choose "Whatever.txt" in the "Script" option
5. Run Script!
6. When complete, reconnect your phone to XS++ and check CDA has changed.
7. Reflash with SEUS to Austria A1
I hope if works for you

Hi. Is it possible to 'brand' P990 back, just using the Restore GDFS option (I have a gdfs backup file (.bin) of my 'Orange brand' P990) or should I get the GDFS script code like the above one ?

OK a short guide to unbranding your smartphone with the help of XS++ v2.0!!!
1. Go here and download XS++ V2.0.
2. Then download the script package for EPOC smartphones from the same post.
3. READ THE README IN THAT PACKAGE!!!
4. Run XS++ v2.0.
5. Tick "Smartphone connect" checkbox.
6. Follow XS++ v2.0 instructions.
7. Once booted - Go to GDFS page.
8. In "GDFS Script" edit field, select your chosen script from the package supplied.
9. Run script!
10. Once complete, you are ready to update with SEUS which will detect your smartphone according to the script!
SUPPORTED PHONES = M600/W950/P990/P1/W960
Hopefully it will help some of you out!

Hi
Isnīt it possible to create a GDFS script to change CDA just based on the CDA itself? I'd like to rebrand my P990 to Vodafone Portugal (162008/33), just to see how it is now, as I can easily redebrand it later.
Thx in advance

Hi all!
How i can preinstall (not update) my M600's F/W ?
My F/W is R9F011 and CDA is 162011/1 R6A13 (WG1).
If i connect with SEUS, he say me "Your phone is up-to-date" and button "continue" be missing.
If i change CDA to WG2 with xs++ 3.1, seus again say me "up-to-date".

Hi, i want my W950 use m600 keypad, but i would like to know if XS++ can flash M600i qwerty driver only to W950? Im sure we just need this one driver.
I want to costumized my W950 with M600 qwerty and front and back cover.
I think this will be easier than convert M600 to W950.
thx for the help

Does this method still work? I tried to use the XS++ script to flash my P990i to the HK firmware, but I'm getting that same issue that others are having where SEUS says no update is available, and doesn't let you continue.
