M600

Pros
beautiful

Cons
no camera

Conclusion
it is prefect!

Verdict
4 (out of 5)

By @ftyk on Jun 05 2008
sony ericsson's own blackberry

Pros
big touch screen, 50mb+ of internal memory, camera free phone.

Cons
jog dial, flimsy stylus & cramped keypad.

Conclusion
the m600i is the perfect phone for corporate executives who need to have a camera free business phone.
the screen is nice, big & bright but it offers zero visibility in daylight.
it is a touch screen & the response is pretty fair.
i think most people will find the qwerty keypad cramped & will prefer using the virtual on-screen keypad.
the jog dial is my least liked feature on sony ericsson smart phones. i can totally do without it so i have nothing to comment on it.
there is no manual setting in the music player's equaliser so you are stuck with only the presets. i like having my own personal equaliser setting.
the built in opera browser is slow but works pretty good.
sound through the loudspeaker is average & is just about good through the handsfree as well.
the m600i can handle 2 gb m2 memory cards effortlessly & the company assures the device will work fine with m2 cards upto 4gb.
the stylus is very thin & delicate making it easily breakable. unlike the p series there is no extra stylus provided in the box.
with the growing demand for camera free phones it's about time sony ericsson made a follow-up to the m600i & they should do away with the jog dial & give it a thicker joystick.

Verdict
4 (out of 5)
