LG promises HD resolution on upcoming Optimus Android model

HD resolution has by definition a minimum resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. LG could be the first manufacture offering such high resolution on a mobile phone. The Sony Ericsson Nozomi are said to have 720p resolution as well, but that is still just a rumor.

LG said in a press release that Capcom's Street Fighter IV will be sold exclusive on upcoming HD smartphones. The deal gives LG exclusive rights to Street Fighter IV the first three month after the launch of LGs first HD Android smartphone.

CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, Dr. Joing seok Park said

As we prepare our first HD smartphone for launch, it was important for us to be able to offer HD content that would really demonstrate this phone's benefits. The HD version of Street Fighter certainly fills this objective. We are also confident that LG's soon-to-be-unveiled HD display technology will give Street Fighter fans a whole new reason to play the game again.

The availability of the new Optimus HD smartphone was not revealed.
