It is just weeks since HTC reported about a very disappointing first quarter. The Taiwanese company saw a 70% drop in revenue compared to the first quarter last year. In Q1 2011 HTC had a net income of NT$14.83 billion and this decreased to NT$4.46 billion (US$151 billion) during the first quarter this year. Revenue during the period also sank from NT$104 billion to NT$67 billion.

HTC CEO Peter Chou said in a statement today that

the last two quarters were a 'rebuilding' period for HTC and we focused on creating and launching our next family of hero products, the HTC One, while continue to grow our brand awareness and preference globally

HTC's outlook for the second quarter is a revenue of NT$105 billion, a little less than the NT$124 billion from Q2 last year but a 55% increase compared to first quarter 2012.
