Today LG confirmed that they will announce the Optimus Pad tablet during Mobile World Congress later this month

A tablet running Android 3.0 Honeycomb was announced during CES earlier this year. The tablets name was LG G-Slate and will be available exclusive for customers of T-Mobile in the US.

For Europe, LG will announce the Optimus Pad at the Mobile World Congress in nine days. The technical specifications will be revealed at the event, but we anticipate that they will be close to the G-Slate specs:

  • Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS
  • Dual core Mobile 1 GHz NVIDI Tegra processor
  • 4G and Wi-Fi capable
  • 8.9 inch display with 1280 x 768 pixel resolution
  • Dual 5 megapixel camera for 3D video capture, HD video capture and photo capture
  • Front facing camera for video chat
  • 32 GB internal memory
  • Adrobe Flash player 10.1
  • 6400 mAh battery
  • Gyroscope sensor
  • HDMI out
  • Full-HD video playback

THIS is what I'm talking about!!
I'm very curious to see how Apple's 2nd generation iPad stands up to this. yet only 720P video recording.
