LG Optimus LTE dual core 1.5 GHz Android smartphone announced
4 October 2011 by Olav Hellesø-Knutsen LG today announced the Optimus LTE for the Korean market. The 4.5 inch HD display is the largest found in a smartphone using in-plane switching display While we are waiting for the big Apple iPhone event later today, LG took the opportunity to fill the waiting time with the announcement of the LG Optimus LTE. The Optimus LTE is the first device in Korea to offer 4G and such a large 4.5 inch IPS display. The IPS technology improves the LCD viewing angle and while IPS at the introduction had a slower response time than TN-based consumer displays, it has evolved and today offers almost the same features as TN-displays. The company LG Display is one of the largest manufactures of IPS display for TV, monitors and smartphones and shipped 7.45 square kilometers of LCD net displays in second quarter 2011. LG Mobile has developed the new display in collaboration with LG Display.
