Just minutes after we wrote the article about some new images of the Optimus Sol, we received the official press release from LG.

As we thought, the LG Optimus Sol E730 is a Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone with a 1GHz processor. The Sol name comes from the high 3.8 high clarity display of Ultra AMOLED type. We do not have the expected retail price, but LG says the Optimus Sol should stand out from its competitors as the most affordable 1 GHz Android smartphone with AMOLED display. This is a no-nosense phone that boast one of the best displays on the market, and we think we have a real winner for consumers looking for a subtle but visually stunning phone, CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Dr. Jong-seok Park said.
