HTC has told their suppliers that the will need parts and components for production up to 60 million devices in 2011

In 2010, HTC expects to ship 20 million devices. Up from 12 million in 2009. Expecting a sale of 60 million handsets is a big leap for the Taiwan-based manufacture . To put these numbers in perspective, the top selling phone manufacture Nokia are expected to ship 110 million devices in 4th quarter 2010 where 26.5 million of those are in the smartphone and mobile computer category. Last quarter is usuall a good quarter for device manufatures, but if we multiply 110 with 4, we have the number 440 which could be what Nokia is expected to sell 2010. All of HTC models are smartphones considered as high-end devices. And they are all running either Android or Windows 7 Mobile operating system.
