Technical details:
Today, HTC announced the Desire S, Wildfire S, Incredible S all with HTC Sense experience. HTC ChaCha and Salsa are two social phones and the Flyer is the first tablet from HTC.

It is only one month since HTC announced three smartphones. Now they are doing it again. Six new devices this time. HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa are two phones with focus on social connectivity. They are both having Sense experience and user interface running on top of Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread. HTC has added a dedicated Facebook key to both of these devices. HTC today also annonced three new smartphones with Sense. Wildfire S, Desire S and Incredible S.

HTC ChaChaHTC ChaCha is a dedicated texing phone with full QWERTY keyboard located at the lower bottom of the phone. The hardware keys are bent slightly towards the user whilch should provide a comfortable typing expierience. The screen size is only 2.6 inch large having a 480 x 320 pixel resolution. Dimensions of the phone itself is 114.4 x 64.6 x 10.7 mm which is relatively large for a phone with a small 2.6 inch display. The good thing is that it is plenty of space for the keys below the display and texting should be easy. Below the QWERTY keyboard, HTC has placed a dedicated Facebook key. HTC ChaCha is the smalles phone ever made by HTC. The rest of the specifiacation seems more than reasonable for this kind of phone.

HTC SalsaHTC Salsa has one single hardware key on the front page. The dedcated Facebook key. This key is content-aware so when the key is pushed, the current viewed content will be shared on the user's Facebook page. It is possible to update status, upload photo, share a web site or post a song you are listening to. For example, you can take a photo and upload it instantly to facebook simply by pressing the button. The HTC Salsa has a 3.4 inch 320 x 480 pixel touch display also with Sense running on top of Android 2.3.3 operating system. It seems like the developers of the Sense and ChaCha has picked hardware from the same basket with features. If you take a closer look at the two phone models, you'll see that the only differense is the hardware keys, battery capacity, GPS and the size of the phone and display. The display resolution is the same.

We are not done with HTC yet. Three more touch screen smartphones left.

First, we have the HTC Incredible S. The display is a 4 inch 480 x 800 pixel Super LCD. Incredible S has a 8 megapixel camera, 720p HD video recording and a 1 GHz CPU. These nice Incredible S specifications and a reasonable price could be the receipt for making this phone a best seller. The spesificatons are above average, and is probably what the man on the street wants and needs from a smartphone in the beginning of 2011.

HTC Desire S will be the fourth model in the Desire series. HTC Desire came first and was announced one year ago. In october 2010 the Desire HD saw the light, and the QWERTY model Desire Z became available one month after that. All but the Desire Z has a 1 GHz processor, and the Desire S continues the 1 GHz heritage by having the Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon MSM 8255 on board. Comparing the Desire, Desire HD and Desire S shows us that the Desire S is the sucessor of the Desire model and not the Desire HD.

HTC FlyerHTC did also announce the HTC Flyer today. This is not a smartphone, but a tablet with a 7 inch display. It is the first ever from HTC. The Flyer was not available for us to play with as the only on on dispaly was locked away from prying hands. It was of course only a matter of time before HTC came out with a tablet too. We all know the iPad, and many you have heard about these: Samsung Galaxy Tab and Tab II, LG Optimus Pad, Rim Playbook, Motorola Xoom and Dell Streak 7. Even HP announced its TouchPad tablet one week ago. So it was no surprise that HTC had something in the making. We are missing a Nokia and Sony Ericsson tablet but Nokia is not yet going the Android way so that indicates that Sony Ericsson could be the next manufacture out.

The Flyer announced by HTC today is a light (420 gram) Android 2.4 (Gingerbread) powered tablet. HTC has put Sense user interface on top of Gingerbread but we haven't been able to check this out.

Update: We initially though the HTC was running on Android 3.0. The Sense overlay fooled us. It is running Android 2.4.
