Apple unveils Iphone 5

Apple today announced its latest smartphone, the Iphone 5. Many of the rumours came through. Among those rumours was the 4-inch display and that the phone is thinner and higher than its predecessor, the Iphone 4S. At only 7.6 mm, it is the thinnest Iphone so far. Making the phone thinner is probably a good enough reason for many to updating their existing 4S to the new model. But making a thin phone also limit the possibility for Apple to produce a much better camera as it must be room for the lens and sensor which must be stacked on top of each other. Therefore, the Iphone 5 has similar camera specifications. It is a 8 megapixel camera with a BSI sensor, auto focus, face detection and 1080p video capture. The front camera has an increased resolution of 720p. A new feature which found The 4-inch Retina display has a 640 x 1136 pixel resolution. The 326 pixel density is similar to the Iphone 4. The display width is kept the same, but the height has increased with 176 pixels up to 1136. That is enough pixels for one more row with icons. Iphone 5 has a 800:1 contrast ration and 500 cd/m2 maximum brightness. Again, the same as Iphone 4S. The aspect ration is now closer to the widescreen video format 16:9 (exact 71:40) compared to the 3:2 aspect ration on Iphone 4S. There are several smartphones available with a higher pixel density, but these are all larger than the 4-inch Iphone 5 display. The old 30-pin connector has been replaced by a 8-pin connector called Lightning. A Lightning-to-30-pin adapter accessory is available in the Apple Store for $29. The adapter is compatible with all older accessories and Iphone 5, Ipod Touch 5th generation and Ipod Nano 7th generation.
Apple has also updated the headset with a new design. Earlier, you could mix left and right ear-plugs, but that is not possible any more as the new headphones has directional speakers. Just like Apple has done with the camera (iSight) and display (Retina) these headset has got a name. The new headphones are called EarPods and these will work with all previously released Apple products.
Apple has chosen to kick out Google from the Iphone 5 pre-installed collection of software. Google Maps are now history, replaced by Maps. The Iphone 5 is the first device from Apple running iOS 6, and Apple Maps are now the default navigation and map app on this and future iOS devices. Apple is very good at making their new products look revolutionary and sensational. One example of this evident during the presentation today. Instead of saying that the Iphone 5 is 1.7 mm thinner than the Iphone 4S, the company showed the audience that the new phone model was 18% thinner. A much larger number to show off. The hardware specs is not Iphone's strength any more. Looking at the specifications alone is not a good reason to go for this particular phone model. We think consumers will buy this for the well-known intuitive user interface and of course the Apple/Iphone brand name. Those already tied heavily to the Apple ecosystem will of course continue to go for Apple products. Apple has chosen not to lower the price tag for the new phone. This mean that the same audience which considered or bought the Iphone 4 also will take a closer look at the Iphone 5. Those who think paying $550 for an contract-free Iphone 4 was expensive one year ago will probably not think otherwise with the Iphone 5.     Iphone 5 will be available in three variants with the same price tag as the Iphone 4S. Apple has not unveiled the Iphone 5 SIM-free price, but these are the prices on a two-year contract in the US: A 16GB edition for $199, $299 for the 32GB edition and $399 for the largest 64GB version. These official prices mean that those going for the 64GB version pays more for that 48GB additional storage than the cheapest Iphone itself. Too bad Apple didn't add a memory card slot on the new Iphone. Available colours: Black and white. Iphone 5 will be available in the US, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Germany, Australia, UK on September 21st. 22 other European countries will get the phone on September 28. 100 countries will receive the Iphone 5 during December. Apple has again shown the world that it can make good hardware backed by good software. We have no doubt that in one year from now, the Iphone 5 will be the best-selling mobile phones from Apple. We do not think the Iphone 5 is the "All-new design" and "Completely redesigned" as Apple chose to call it. The Iphone 5 is an evolution smartphone based on the ideas behind Iphone 4/4S. Seriously every single iphone thread is filled with spam! I know its ok to post something like this once in a while, but about 5 threads, and every single one of them has almost the same thing. I think every one knows here that hardly there are 1% of esato users who are actually an apple fan. These threads would drift to oblivion, if it weren't for these random hate posts..
I think you find that majority of Apple users are stuck up and think their product is the only best product you can buy. Also comes the smugness with it which really isnt necessary and make out that they can afford an over hyped, less engineered, less advanced and with old technology. That means they are due a hiding from others and rightfully so! They started this whole crap in the first place. I have friends who have iphones and regret and I mean regret buying them. They want to switch to another platform but no Apple have them by the balls, they have paid for apps, music, video, everything, can they bring that across to another platform? No! I feel kind of sorry for them because they got bought into the whole Apple craze years ago now they have realised that Apple aint innovative anymore and not giving you value for money.
I kind of feel that some people here on Esato where probably in the same position before and moved over to other platforms and realised that the grass is indeed greener on the other side. I hope the Apple slagging continues and makes more people realise that they want your money and loyality and for what in return? A 4" screen in which almost every high end phone out there is above that and provides a much better res to the so called Retina display. Sony Xperia S offers the highest ppi, do you hear people banging on about how good that is? NO because they know what it is and carry on. Apple just make BS claims that they invent new tech when really they just put a name to it and make it sound revolutionary. I hope this makes some sense as I believe some people will agree with that the world is in a sad place if they believe Apple is the only product out there offering you 2 year old technology! PMSLOTF!
One of my Irish cousins recently said the iPhone is the best phone invented. Cos she's my cousin I just bit my tongue was not gonna argue with her not my cousin But anyway if Apple think their screen is retina,hmmm look at this

My partner is a fandroid like u chunky I just laugh !!! I really love my iPhone and there's nothing that Would stop me buying them either iPhone just rocks da Boat and clicks all comparisons for me
Android is Alright though it's a little bit childish Compared with a iPhone which is more maturer for A old woman like me 
Chunky?? I'll argue with whomever I choose nothing to do with being a woman it's cos she's my cousin. And I am no Phandroid or whatever I own a Windows phone and prefer it to Android. Android is not childish it does far more than iOS can do and better. I agree about the old woman though

Apple as per my reason I hate them because they are trying to change standards all the time to suit them but really them standards suck. So really you can see my reasons are valid. I have had an Iphone 4 before and at the time a nice phone but this all lock down thing and being not able to recover my data after it broke really says it all! I suppose Im an angry one off ex user whom Apple has left a bad taste in my mouth! They can only keep getting better too. It's far more exciting than the drab 3rd generation same design of the iPhone.
