This is from youtube comment session: " In Russia, preorder open for 1iii at US$ 1300 + Earbuds (WF mark 3)

Posted by Tizzo
Do we have a release date yet?

Posted by Hawk12
I did not understand if China gets phone in late May or if Sony is gonna do press for local media on this day.

Sounds like USA is gonna be last again.

Looks like in Europe only Russia has pre-order open.

Mark iii are not on Sony Ireland website.

Kind of wish the 1 III supported MM wave, guess I should happy that they actually support n41 and n71 unlike 1 II, which practically did not support any US 5G at all. Also wish they had that green too! Was going to go for the silver to only find out that US won't carry that color .

Otherwise, I'm very excited about the phone~! Can't wait until the release, as I am in need of a replacement. Guess I won't look forward to the price.

Anyone got news on the potential release date and price?

Posted by Gitaroo
How is Xperia photo quality compare to other brands these days? Nightshot and the zoom quality? Where can I order this in Canada?

Posted by Hawk12
Looks like the burst mode is actually 80fps and it outputs 20fps.

Each 4 become 1.

If it is true, it indeed has new exmor.

Adding SD888 alone would not make 557 act 4x faster compared to 1ii.

I'm surprised they went on to support TMO n71 but then they went on and dropped ATT 5G bands hahah.. What's up with Xperia guys and their US 5G mess they are making?

Also there is a hands on video of 1III by Engadget Japan.

All sensors have faster readout speed. Better low light photography.

Doesn't AT&T uses n5 5G band in the US, it's listed in the spec sheet, why wouldn't be compatible with AT&T 5G?

They are expanding their 5G coverage with n2 and n66 instead of n5 for some reason.

Size comparison with xperia 1II. Picture from Zackbuks.

Top is xperia 1II.

Just wanted to know how Zack already has the 1iii.

And he says he does not work for Sony.

Posted by Shino03
I thought people will be less interested with the 1 iii than the 1 ii turns out I was wrong.

The official product video of Xperia 1 iii is now 1.7M in 1 week, I think, it may surpass the 1ii's 3M plus views .
The interest is still strong with Xperia.

From zackbuks

"Heat and power control is a bit better than the worst reviews I heard about the 888.
Much better than the Xperia Z3+ period.
No need to panic."

He also has posted 1 photo from each rear camera.

I very suspect you can use the 3 simultaniously.

The motorcycle is exactly at same spot.

The picture quality is really good.

Posted by Hawk12
They did not mention basic recording being within Cinema Pro.

Because the xperia cam is gone.

There is only Photo Pro, where you find basic mode.

Posted by Ppl
Zackbuks has a photo of Basic mode on his Instagram, there's a toggle to choose between photo and video there. Also there's an HDR button which means you'll be able to force HDR on auto now, don't know how close it'll be to always-on-HDR of other brands.

The sample looks like it's taken under almost direct sunlight (a fairly easy shot) and the motorcyclist isn't moving.

Posted by Ducki
Hdr button is just for video recording. Basic photo has no hdr button.

Cinema pro is still a stand alone app. Basic mode is only in photo pro.

I hope they brought 4k 120fps for basic video app.

Is sony using triple QB sensors to output 3MP?

All sample show 2048 x 1536. Instead of something like 4000x3000.

Some of them are less than 0,8MB while, other are more than 4.

Something is weird here.

3MP from Z series is 2048x1536 as well.

No, Xperia 1 ii had the same resolution and file size for the sample pictures.
They are just downscaled.

Someone on weibo said Xperia 1 iii has 800 nits automic brightness.
