Thanks for making this page Tibagy.

It looks like they finally sorted out the marketing. The video showcases the many features of the phone.

Hands-on. Cinema Pro shows only 24 and 120fps. Not 25,30 and 60.

https://youtu.be/LMc76UbA7LM

I am still curious to know why the design of 10ii instead of 1ii.
Would it be cheaper to make?
I love the colours, same of XZ1.
Pink is stunning.

3 days and not even 200.000 views for the promo video.
At this point I think 1ii has way more than 600.000.

Hot take: Sony Xperia 5 II

The Sony Xperia 5 II is unique for its connection to the past – it has a classic design, a size that draws comparisons with the beloved Compact models and features like the 3.5mm jack that other makers have abandoned for modern alternatives like USB-C and Bluetooth.

It’s also a phone that perfectly embodies Sony – a tech giant known for its music players, cameras, TVs and game consoles. The company has a reputation of quality in all of those fields and the Xperia 5 II unabashedly displays relevant branding from those product line-ups: Bravia, CineAlta, Bionz and so on. But not everything is as it appears.

Yet unfortunately it's not 'compact' ... 6.1" Display is only .4" smaller than the Xperia 1 m II.

Nice to see the dedicated camera on a smartphone in this sea of glass. Rapid captures.

240hz Touch pickup rate .... PERFECT for gaming! Hence the partnership with Activision.

Can't believe this phone will have this much attention and overall positive feedback.

HK seems to be the first to release X5II, but Japanese operators could beat it.

But 3.0 like 1ii ....

Someone edit exmor wiki page and put 5ii with 555 instead of 557.

Sony started preorder of the Sony Xperia 5ll in the Netherlands (€899) ... for the early birds they give the WH-XB900N headphones with it.

Xperia 5 II has IMX555 not IMX557?

They somehow claim that the imx555 is superior to imx557. I doubt this.

Perhaps the difference is in 3D iToF compatibility.

As far as I know, exmor used by galaxy S/note are exclusove samsung mobile.

IMX 555 = 1/1.76 inch
IMX 557 = 1/1.70 inch

I just rechecked Sony's product page and they are clearly pointing towards 557. What intrigues me is the telephoto sensor the most. I wonder what they did to improve its sharpness?

My guess is software, and if so, it should come to 1ii together with 10bit 120fps 4K HDR.

Which phone holder do you use?

It's hard to find a good one that fits because of so many buttons.

When I saw that ad and the blue dot, I was very excited. Unfortunately that excitement turned into disappointment.
The blue color is not representative of the real Xperia 5 II's blue color.

My holder is for the compact series so I will have to get me a new bigger one,
I think also over a new e-bike with the Cobi display holder that uses your phone as a display.
my holder now

what is it about?

By the way, a friend of mine who works for an online retailer told me pre-order of x5ii is about half of x1ii, which he said unexpected.

I personally think x5ii apeals to more users, thus sell more.

Posted by Hawk12
There were gossips about it using imx555 instead.
Because someone listed 5ii with it on wikipedia ...

If most choose 1ii over 5ii, more money for sony. 😁
Also tell us that 4K@60 > 1080@120, giant phone > big phone ..

I believe that design also plays a big part in purchase because personally I love the xperia 1II design more than the xperia 5II. The flat sides somehow more attractive than rounded sides.
One more point is that many people already purchased xperia 1II , then 5II announced. There's no point buying another mini xperia 1II isn't it? Unless you are die hard fan who knew Sony is going to make a smaller xperia 1II and willing to wait for it.

Thing is, Sony was expecting to sell more 5ii than 1ii.
This may end up different.

But of course, out friend info is about one store.
Does not mean it is going to happen everywhere.

Price of 1ii is still same since may.
This sounds to me sales are better than they imagined, otherwise price would be cut already.

Posted by pt020
My god, the 5ll is not in the shops yet.. how would you know?

Posted by Hawk12
Someone here said he was told that at least one retalier has half preorders compared to 1ii.

Posted by badassmam
Does this have a FM radio?

Posted by Hawk12
No.

Some perspective: someone on the Internet claims 1 unknown store has half of 1ii's preorders. Ok...

Really impressed on how clean the Xperia 5 ii compared to the main cam of Lg Wing 5g

Ordered it today,
She've told me that they have it in stock, and I will get it by post in the next few days.

Well, ISP from 865 is better than one inside 765. Better lenses than LG. Just doing its obligation.

Nobody has noticed AF performance difference between 1ii and 5ii despite no ToF.
That is great.
Sony can remove from 1iii ...

I am checking samples from 5ii.
So far the daylight shots are better than 1ii.

I guess the software was further developed. It's quite obvious that the 1ii will get an update soon.
