Xperia Z5 From Sony – The Best Camera In a Leading Smartphone

Well. That's my next one I suppose.
Z5. Z5 Premium is too expensive plus it has just 8mpx camera.
4k display is amazing but not THAT important.

Z5 Compact - tempting but 2GB RAM, and smaller screen.
Z5 looks like perfectly optimal one.

Guys, any one saw a video for the fingerprint in action ?.. if not yet then share whenever anyone see please..

What 8mpx camera ?

MY MISTAKE.
I mean the spec list clearly says 23mpx (In Z5 Premium).
So sorry for mistake.

My only gripe is smallish battery and only 5mpx in front.

Um, has anyone of you seen the sample shots by GSM Arena?
The image quality is extremely clear in the middle of the photos, less so closer to the corners.

I think it is the sharpest I have ever seen to a phone.

hmm camera app is different?

btw really liking the new colours for the Z5, especially the matte back, should help with scratches, at least make them less visible. Maybe I'll opt for gold or blue not sure yet.

I might get the Z5 if this is true to replace my Lenovo Vibe shot.

Ehh pretty booring. I remember times when new phone was actually something new... Each phone had totally different design, new features. Now after one year we get different power button + Slightly improved camera and CPU.

But still no mention of full manual mode, ie exposure time and high iso settings. :/

2 questions.

Do we have a notification light on Z5C?

Is the frame metal or plastic?

ALL versions seem to have Single SIM, Nano SIM, and Dual SIM options; so I think a specific skew/model # designation for each region is going to be keen in your search.

Phonearena took some sample pictures with the Z5 and its competitors (iP6+, G4, S6 Z3) and they revealed one problem - very strong digital noise. It's even worse than in older Z3 - look at full size pictures (100%). Other than that photos are really good but Sony really needs to work hard to fix this issue.

LG and Samsung imagine processing are like those SNES/Genesis emulators filters when it comes to noise reduction
https://upload.wikimedia.org/[....]s/6/6c/HQx-xBRZ-comparison.png

LG used to be god awful in this respect but have improved a lot over the years and now it works pretty decent in most cases, but still smudged out many of the macro details in the process. Sony is the complete opposite approach by sharpening everything.

Go translate Lolz

he recorded up be 38 mins of 4K video until the over heat warning msg pop up. Didn't feel hot while he was testing either, Sony has truely solved the heat problem of S810.

Price cut!

http://www.digitaltrends.com/[....]japan-only-z5-compact-premium/

On September 3, the Xperia Z5 line of phones was listed on Sony’s U.K. online store: 549 pounds (about $833) for the Z5 Compact, 599 pounds (about $909) for the Z5, and 699 pounds (about $1,060) for the Z5 Premium. The next day, those prices were knocked down to 429 pounds (about $651) for the Z5 Compact, 549 pounds (about $833) for the Z5, and 629 pounds (about $954) for the Z5 Premium, as observed by uSwitch.com.

Posted by ascariss
Seems to be a UK only price cut for now hehe, but it seems they are inline with the prices in the rest of Europe.
