I will skip this "smartwatch" even if it was for free!

^^ Why?

Posted by pt020
^^
Why?
1. it looks like first generation LG watch,no style.
For Sony (Ericsson) it is 6th generation, and they made beautiful watches in the past (MBW-100/150) and this plastic clone with again lose belt that looks cheap and unsafe (and girlish).
2. Android Wear is new and offers not many apps, how many times will I ask my watch how tall is obama?
Sony has 500+ apps that people paid for and now are useless,
3.Once sony was the leader now it is reacting!
android wear could have been easily put into an app on the very good Sony OS on smartwatch 2. it only needed a microphone
4. Screen is bigger but does it use the same technology for outdoor view?
5. Round screen...??
6. 250 Euro for something that looks old before it is out and can't do 10% from what SW2 can?
If I was the Boss of Sony, the smartwatch department was fired.
p.s
7.And I hope in the next presentation Sony won't use the Japanese presenter...
He talked English (kind of) but was breathing in the wrong moments
I could not understand anything he says.

OK,that was a lot
I'm kinda new to smart watches so i dint know much..I thought you dint like it cause of the Rubber straps and i was going to tell you i read somewhere that SONY is offering leather straps for the same too but looks like you have bigger problems than that

It is a massive step backwards from the great looking SW2. I was waiting on this and I am now really disappointed.

It looks like a fitness watch which maybe is okay because it has fitness features, but I couldn't wear this as an everyday watch. They've in all likeliness turned away half their audience... the people who want something stylish.

I just don't get how they bring out this design at the same time as the bring out something so beautiful and perfect like the Z3! Still... I will wait and see the alternative straps before I completely write it off.

I personally loved it.Also there is an optional Leather strap..so that would give it the not-so-fitness band look right?

@Muhammad-Oli
Yeah, like wtf? it looks like kids toy imo. i think most here will agree the smartwatch 3 is disappointing in terms of design and generally compared to its rivals, especially to apple watch. it's like they don't care much about it and bring new watch just for the sake of it. personally i don't care much about smart watches but it seems totally strange. i would expect better from sony for third generation. they lost in this game.
i applaud apple for their apple watch presentation. looks $$$. they really seem like they are proud of it and put a lot of thought into that device, actually like all their products even though i'm sick of iphone as a user. it needs to be said.

I agree with the SW3 part, it's really underwhelming. Apple Watch is also, not only but also because of the big expectations. But these two ladies and gentlemen :

I wouldn't mind the 'sporty' design that much, but it should hav haf a heart rate monitor then. It doesn't have one right?

Is there any smart watch out there with GPS, waterproof AND heart rate monitor?

Yes there is. 🍏⌚

You are kidding me, right?

The Apple Watch neither has GPS nor is it waterproof?!?

Apart from these facts it looks like a toy watch for kids (my personal subjective opinion).

Is there anyone who can confirm that the Sony SmartWatch 3 could be used as a live-view remote with Sony action cam or any Sony cameras?
Because as far as I know Sony smartwatch 3 also has Wi-Fi.

I recently bought a smart watch 3 and I have to say, it looks so much better than the pictures. So far I am really liking it.

@Hilmawan, sorry I dont have sony action cams(or their newer cams) to confirm this.

Battery, speaker and sensors are water resistant. The force touch on the display being pressure sensitive is a moving part for now. Thus couldn't advertise water resistance. Their stores and warranty almost across the globe more than make up for any potential user damage issues for replacements - this in my opinion will best out the competition and will have larger sales. This is proven with all their products and the many times you see lineups outside their stores over a month after new product releases isn't just for new purchases.

Regarding gps, how often will you be needing the gps on your watch without your smartphone in this day and age? Hmmm.
