Sweet, I've been looking for a decent BT stereo headset but this one looks great, I wonder how much it will be though?

This BT headset is now available in India through infibeam. Please post if there are any other retailers for India.

Agreed! Not to mention the loss of the LCD is bothersome - now you'll have to guess in some random playlist which track is playing.

PS: I get a lot of playlists from local DJ's in Toronto and tracks don't have names pre-encoded as their recorded and sent to me like a continuous LP Album.

This design looks strikingly similar to the nokia-bh-111 which is not a bad thing.

HD Voice support is a HUGE boon, along with NFC pairing for bluetooth is super cool. I'm VERY curious if you restore your smartphone to factory settings and then restore you backup if the NFC pairing would auto reconnect to the Bluetooth accessories? By default Bluetooth on its own forbids this and thus you'll have to repair again; something I'm finding annoying as I'm beta testing a lot of firmwares as they debut on my Z10 and pairing with the BB Stereo Speaker S is a pain when I just want to tap and jump into the shower or go for a skate.

Hold the phone before ordering .... 2 things!

1.
The SBH20 has an 110mAh battery capable of six hours of talk time or streaming music.

2. Sony Wireless Headset DR-BTN200M,
comes embedded with a 145mAh battery capable of 40 hours stream time.

... so 35mAh equals a difference of 32hrs of playback time?! That's VERY significant, as in a HUGE difference, does that even make sense?!

DR-BTN200M

Hi everyone!

Got my Sony Wireless Headset DR-BTN200M with a £60 reduction because of issues with my Xperia Tablet S

Pairs well with my iPod and iPad and Xperia Tablet S as NFC work so sweetly with my Xperia T !!

Lovely sounds too!!

I have been using SBH20 for more than 2 weeks now and it is a good and compact headset. Although I have to complain that the supplied earphone are not up to the mark. I am using the EarPhones bundled with Xperia Z and they give much better quality than MH755 (the one bundled with SBH20). I like the form factor of SBH20. I cannot comment on the battery life yet, as I was not able to test it with a full & complete charge. By next week I should be able to comment on the battery life.

Thank you for the update!

Which headphone model's came buddled with the Xperia Z?

I'd had think Sony would've upgraded the MH755 with flat cables to avoid tangling in 2013; considering how compact the SBH20 is.

The earphone bundled with XZ are "MH-EX300AP". Sony should have bundled a better earphone with SBH20. Sony are leaders in sound, this is the least they should have done to protect their image.

I think even the new SBH50 is bundled with MH755

Just adding the comments on the Battery Life and NFC Pairing
The battery life is decent. Not bad but could have been better in comparision to MW600 which has fantastic battery life, even with the display. I was able to use SHB20 for 3 days on a single charge with 4-5 Hrs of music and 36 Hrs of standby with some calls during that time. I think I used to get more on my MW600. But on the good side, the device gets charged within an hour.
The pairing using NFC works like a charm. The device gets paired with the phone in less than 5 secs, smooth, simple and easy. Loved the NFC functionality....
Overall I like the product, but I wish Sony had announced and released SBH50 earlier. And Sony please give good pair of earphones with flat cables.

The flat cables are very bad idea ... they are uncomfortable, hard and make the earphone fall out of my ears.
Got a set of these with the Smart Wireless Headset pro and I never use them.

^ The flat cables is not what is causing the buds to fall out of your ear.

It is !
Everytime I move the cable moves with me and they just fall out of my ear.
Have few headphones and this one and the Beats have that flat cable and both have the same problem ,only the beats have softer cable so the problem is less.

Hey pt020, that's a collection of earphones you have!!!!
I too have the Beats one and it does not fall off. I changed the earbuds so that it remains tight in my ears and no problems!!

I wished for a Flat Cable because the round ones get tangled easily. Strangely the flat ones don't!!

Nice collection. I still disagree however I think the root cause is that the cables tend to be easier to be tugged onto fabric, that the conical cables. Also I've noticed they don't damage as much (LG Optimus G headphones). But you have more experience with several flat cable in-ear headphones than myself.

Thank you ...
The cables on this bluetooth receivers are too short to tangle,if it was a long one I could understand the need in it.
But as I wrote before the Sony cable are just too hard.
My experience with them is that they are uncomfortable and it is a pity because they have a good sound.
I understand that people have to learn from their own experience but do not say I didn't warn you.

Thank you
Look if it was such a good idea from the beginning Sony would not go back to the normal cables, but I suppose not only me complained about them and thats why they went back.

hows the sound quality of this? planning to get it to replace my mw600

Posted by pbhat25
I'd say the sound quality is good with a good pair of earphone. The supplied earphones are not that good.

Why don't you wait for SBH50? Will be similar to MW600, with respect to display...

Bought a SBH20 today for my Xperia S.
Works as advertised with NFC, just touch the phones back and it pairs. Works with my Nexus 7 through BT pairing.
Sound is clear and OK I would say. Buttons > are a bit stiff. Connection is lost after maybe 5m with your back against the phone.
Something neat is that you can connect it to any speaker/speakers and turns it/them into BT speakers.
With it you get a 15cm USB cable with it, 3 pairs of ear buds and a standard 850 mA charger.

Edit: I bought the black one.

My first impressions of the Sony SBH20
in the box ... love the short USB cable.

Build quality is the best of all the bluetooth receivers I had until now!

size is alos perfect and the clip feels very durable.

My phone does not have NFC so paired it in the old fashioned way.
straight forwards,no issues.
turned music on and there I had my first small disappointment, the headphones sound could be better ....
The older headphones were better even my cheap HPM77 headphones (14€) sound better.
So I tried it with other headphones and I must say on my Bose headphones the sound is amazing!!
Better then any bluetooth receivers I had until now, high and low tones sound just wow .

battery life is still unknown will test it soon.
