Hi

I bought my phone way back in 2007. AFAIK, there hasnt been any firmware update. The problem I am facing is that my camera application won't work - clicking the camera button brings up the app button then pressing the same button won't take video or picture. So I was wondering whether a reset would solve this problem?

PS:
What does reset actually do? DO I lose all my contacts, apps, messages etc.?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Although I think it's not a software problem but hardware, the reset will just restore your phone as default. Before performing the reset it will warn you about what's it gonna do.

Thanks for the reply - the thing is that the button works (as the camera app is turned on by pressing it). The lens is also OK as I can see the picture - its only when pressing the button there that there is a problem.

If I remove my memory card and the reset, I assume its contents will still remain?

Of course they will. But the phone's content won't,
