Hello all. Seen as I recently got the Elm I thought I would start the photo thread. I have already posted plenty in my review but they would be better in a proper thread. I am now the 2nd person to have one here on Esato. So far I have been impressed with the camera on such a value for money device. As I go along I shall start to take new photos nothing repeated as before. Here are my first in here.

Extremely good photos.

OK I will say this folks I have taken too many boring photos around where I live so when the weather is better hopefully even tomorrow I shall go for a day out to Stratford-Upon -Avon which is near me on the train it's only Ģ6 return so I will go there take some pics. Looking forward to my holiday in July with this camera. I have put this thread as Elm/Hazel because I think they have the same camera module am I right?

This pic is low light on my bedside cabinet so you can see hardly no noise without flash firing.Excuse my medications

I had a chance to play with a real set. The menu is zippy! Zooming photo is also fast! A lot faster than K850! Anyone knows the processor? The screen is a bit dark though it was set to maximum brightness. Its ergonomics design really feels good in the hand just like the Vivaz. Kudos to this SE~

Posted by Bonovox
The screen is fine & bright in good light & daylight it's just dark in lowlight. Outside it's fab. I see now he confused me cos the cheesecake pic is not the first photo Mitchka can you not see the first photo is that street in sunlight?

After looking at the full size pics at the photos section I'm officially declaring Elm as the best SE shooter. They could've done away with the megapixel race crap shoved down Satio's throat and it would've been a best seller with this 5mp cam module

Posted by Bonovox
It certainly is a surprise a shocker for a cheap phone. Has anyone got a Hazel yet I wonder. Mode you can see more of my pics I took in my review. It's not even a Cyber Shot

The photo quality is very similar to Kodak which is most impressive. It certainly is a nice surprise unfortunately I'm afraid no one will care as there is no particular core market for the phone, just as great phones like W902 and C901 have relatively been unnoticed for their 'talents'.

Posted by Bonovox
That is true. It's a shame but when i spoke to O2 they said they had sold out cos they were selling well lets hope for a change.

Not available yet, Hazel after H1 most likely possible

Great pics it really remind me of c901 except xenon

Posted by Bonovox
I still will never understand why never released the c901 here. It could have been massive for them I realise Mitchka now that you mean my cheesecake has a rude willy sticking out of it

Yes they have the same modules judging filed EXIF. But the difference in the algorithm processing.

Posted by zide
Great sharpness on those! As good (if not better) as the C901.

Another macro.

Posted by gayannr
whoaa!! Best 5Mp shots I've seen so far, Fabulous Bono

Posted by ceaser2008
Finally you've found the flower. Its really sharp.
Why sony didnt equipped it with xenon flash?? If they did, it would have been high selling phone ever.

Hey nice quality

If they put in a Xenon flash with this phone it would have bumped up the price too. Here are some more I took today when I went for a walk in my area by our local church. The church is actually where my mothers funeral took place It's a dull day but I found some flowers with nice colours. Bear in mind it was a windy day so some shots might not be as great as I wished

same modules judging filed EXIF what it means? and the same module, what module? But the difference in the algorithm processing? i donīt think so, for sensor always use the same algorithm right?
Hey guys wonderful pics! nice colors nice sharp

Posted by Bonovox
Thanks. I wonder what Hazel will be like. I may have gone for that if it had been out now.

awesome shoots Bono

Damn, this is impressive! Keep shooting Bono, great quality, if only i knew somebody close by with the Elm to try the camera for myself

Posted by Bonovox
Yeah & you would Mod it

Posted by mriley
If you go on se-nse there are quite a few threads about the Elm and modding

Great pictures from again. Add to cart. I wanna buy my wife this phone someday.

Posted by Bonovox
By the way I will say some people are saying the screen is dull but its only like all others with the light sensor. Indoors it goes very dim but in good light outside or even bright indoor light the screen is great. I love the camera and the phone has so far had zero problems.

I guess reason behind this phone camera is this

Well maybe but you see the colours of them flowers? That was on auto

Posted by mode
IMO it's sharper and clearer than any other SE phones, details are stunning on this phone, full crop (even at low light) is very impressive so far, colours and saturation (for stock camdriver of course) is better than C901 which is perfect to portray true life conditions. Any more improvement in this area would be overproducing. I'm still speechless with the quality

It seems to be the kind of phone that no matter who's behind the camera, the photos will turn out great

I ain't that bad a photographer though sometimes we all take rubbish photos but I know how to take a decent photo & how to keep still(even when blowing a gale) Looking forward to my holiday in St.Ives in south west England this July for one week. It's so beautiful & stunning down there & it has been declared one of the best places for light for artists & photographers alike. If you get the sunshine down there it's perfect. Can't wait to take photos. I tried my hardest when I had the w995 but they always seemed to come out poor Anyway I took only one or two today. Today I took a few, 2 of them were a view of the train station but it was on a high slanted wall so you can see it's kind of well er slanted The other were some strange glass speakers in the Apple store & also I took for a change the backside of the Bull at the Bull Ring shopping centre People were climbing on it as usual @Newtrex I now see what you mean I could not read that PDF file when I was on my mobile last night. Wow so is that what's inside this phone?

I think its time to put aside my c905 and buy an Elm..it beats c905 hands down in terms of image sharpness-details...

Posted by Bonovox
I just hope they improve the LED flash in an update soon because that's the only thing that let's down the Elm. I will take an LED shot tonight & post tomorrow but it is only best for head shots close range as usual. I seriously think are improving because so far I have had absolutely no software or hardware issues(except for poor LED). No restarts or crashes it's a refreshing change & I can see the old coming back to their old reliable self Tranced who is Sunny?
[ This Message was edited by: Bonovox on 2010-04-06 16:04 ]

Posted by tranced
Sunny is Hazel. The slider version.

Posted by Bonovox
Oh he was having me on Looking forward to seeing Sunny when she arrives on the scene for comparing photos. I just uploaded that Bull from behind shot in full size section. It still looks crisp full size very good indeed.

Posted by HxH
Elm is mid-end product and I don't think about Exmor inside but if it YES! it mean good for

Posted by Bonovox
OK folks can you tell the difference with these two shots? They were both taken with the Elm seconds apart from my window just now. One is 3mp the other is 5mp

Posted by HxH
First slightly better in term of detail and colour I guess it 5MP

actually better full size upload both

Posted by Bonovox
NOOOOOOOOOOO 2nd one is the 5mp. I don't know how to upload full size except in photos section.

Could I request low-light pictures? I've so impressed with outdoor..now I'm hoping that low-light will make me decide to put it in my buy-plan

Posted by Bonovox
OK will do some later tonight as right now it ain't dark enough. But I have just done these 2 a view of my pc with just my small lamp on & my face with flash & face detection on. Will have to wait for any night landscape ones.

LOL. Didn't mean it that way mate. The details and overall quality just look so good in all conditions that one just can't help but draw such a conclusion. It makes older Cybershot quality like the K800 right across to C902 look so dated is starting to do something right

Posted by Bonovox
Yes perhaps they have just only recently changed their camera software. Good news I can see. Remembering my old K800i it was great for the time & it had a Xenon flash but so many shots were blurry on it.

Posted by mriley
Night picture time Bono!

Posted by gayannr
Bonovox! How do you pit this against the cam of 6700c ? What about a camera comparison
