Sony Ericsson introduces a world first – the Motion Activated Headphones MH907
21 September 2009

Escape the ordinary - listen to your favourite music and receive calls without touching a button with the Motion Activated Headphones MH907.

London, September 21st, 2009 – Sony Ericsson today unveils the world’s first ever motion activated headphones that sense the user. The clever MH907 headphones mean users simply plug in two earphones to start listening to music and pause by removing one earbud. To start listening again simply plug it back in. Do exactly the same to answer and end calls – simple as 1,2,3!

Sony Ericsson’s SensMe™ Control technology responds without a single press of a button, and with a Clear Audio experience users encounter superior sound on the move and enjoy their favourite music as it’s meant to be heard.

Sony Ericsson has created a humorous quirky film to demonstrate the product’s unique technology. Partnering with internationally renowned animator Kristofer Ström, the short film debuting today shows a cartoon character riding the bus and switching effortlessly between phone calls and listening to his favourite music. To see the film visit: http://www.sonyericsson.com/putyourearsincontrol

“With the MH907 consumers can pocket their phone but still stay connected all day, every day by simply plugging in or removing their earbuds – there is no need for a remote control or any buttons.” said Jacob Sten, Senior Vice President, SEMC Accessories. “At Sony Ericsson we think it is very important to listen to what our customer needs and introducing the world’s first ever motion activated headphones highlights our commitment to offer our customers a complete Communications Entertainment experience. The MH907 supports our realigned brand strategy, which aims to build a fun, playful and inclusive interaction with consumers.”

Okay, I think I'm interested

That dude has no hair, could this be what we all have been waiting for, ear phones that cut your hair whilst you are listening to music

But then again, he has no nose either

...or they managed to fit an accelerometer into earphones, now you can change tracks and the whole lot just by moving your head in certain ways...

This is so not going to change the way I, or anyone I know, listens to music..

Posted by masseur
thats a tad negative without knowing what it is.

I'm the kind of person who tries/tastes everything before deciding if I like it

Posted by anonymuser
If they've replaced the human ear with something better, I'll take it back

...that leaves out a whole lot of people that can change the way they listen to music

Besides, it would be convenient to control your music with your head movement instead of taking your phone out, maybe weird, but hey...

It better be an affordable Music smartphone or it wont change ish!

The registration confirmation email mentions ....a world first for Sony Ericsson. Intruguing to say the least.

Headcontrol:
Right - Louder
Left - More Bass
Back - Next track
Front - Mute
Shake - Headache

Posted by tranced
on september 21st the guy will turn around and we'll see what he's using as music player

i guess we'll see new accessories(headphones maybe).

Posted by xell
A Swedish animator will show a film to demonstrate the abilities of this new product.
Kristofer Ström. Never heard of him, but he's googlable.
Too bad I'm at work when the webcast goes live.

Would it be convenient? Would it change the way you listened to music forever? Or would it just be a silly gimmick that made you look a bit daft on the bus?

My bet's on some new form of music store.

It's not out of the question. May be it's a development of the 'Shake Control' feature where you hold a button down on the phone and flap your ears to change track.

Gola, look what you've started.

Posted by tranced
and to be honest i cant believe used this cartoon and at the left lower corner they put the "make.believe" motto

Posted by masada1971
i have a question...do you have to be bold to live the new music experience??

Posted by tranced
how come!? it's just a cartoon. maybe it's part of the make.believe campaign

Posted by c_vignesh
so is something sensational releasing coming on sep 21st

or some copy-paste stuff again

Posted by tranced
if you ask me i'd say it'll be something new to just as the xperia pureness.

SE Headset for Sept, 21 isnt so great, turn on music/radio when you wear it, nice but so niche. Could put review now, but let them announce

Eldar on Twitter.

Posted by tranced
i was right then. so was the picture

but one question: is it part of the xperia pureness thing?

Posted by Bonovox
That character looks a bit sad

Posted by PeterKay
ditto

Posted by tranced
thats because the 21st isnt here

Posted by mode
I can see nothing wrong with a little bump n grind from SE to shake things up a bit but please, IMPRESS US!

Posted by idumbakumar
I also think that shaking head for changing tracks.
But also may be selecting the songs by just telling the name of the tracks?
Or may DSP inbuild headset?

Posted by Ultimus
I sure hope they'll announce a couple of new new Walkman phones in addition to the headset.

Posted by se_love
Its in a week. I wonder if anyone would leak anything. I mean something has to sometime.

Posted by hihihans
Is anyone leaks anything they should wear dipers sorry couldn't resist. 21st starts Autumn . Headset with windshield? This was my last stupid post (in this thread)

Posted by gola
Oh well, if it's not the head shaking thing, then I'm going to go and patent it, start a phone company. Chances are, it would do better then what SE is doing...

Oh Satio, oh Satio, where far art thy Satio...

Head shaking would be cool but only if you have to press a button. Too much headbanging would ruin the experience.

Posted by hihihans
You can put me on your list for one headshakers phone. €75 ? oh no I broke my promise.

Posted by Bonovox
Which member of Esato does that character look like? Lol

No one really. Unless you count the baldness for Gucci after he went mad with all the support behind SE. XD
Seriously though head movements for the controls would be awesome or at least something.

Posted by HxH
I hope it would be cool enough since no new headphone out this year.

Posted by gola
GUCCI, look what you've started.

Posted by mrmilo69
I'm hoping this is an all singing all dancing bluetooth headset that has mind control capabilities within 10m, and looks like a better version of the BH-604. But it'll probably be the first bluetooth headset with a colour screen or something,

Posted by Tsepz_GP
LMFAO! NO WAY!? There's support behind SE? i think its se_love due to all the phones he's been breaking
