Posted by SilveR.

Posted by hgautam
I can't see the second speaker... Where is it???

Posted by darknoob

Hi all,

Actually i think it is a really nice phone and really glad to see at last SE including HSDPA good move IMO. If i was in the market for a non smart phone Music phone i would definitely consider this one. The only thing that made me laugh was

"massive 2GB music storage capacity"

What 2GB used to be massive but late 2007 no way i am about to get 6 or 8GB and even 4GB is now quite cheap.

Marc

It's just a thicker W880i with a bigger display. The camera sucks without flash/LED and AF. They should have based it on the T650i instead. Thin 3,2MP, LED-flash and AF why not throw in a W-player and a bigger screen?!

Posted by jcwhite_uk
The W890i also has HSDPA, EDGE and an FM radio over the T650i.

Posted by mariachi4
I think the "stereo speakers" are the same as what they called "stereo speakers" with the W610i. 1 speaker with stereo sound???

Posted by MWEB
Quite nice overall, but AF/flash would have been the icing on the cake IMO.

Posted by Merkie2
Looks afwul in brown, okay in silver and black. I'm just wondering why oh why there's no autofocus. Even the low-end W610i has autofocus! I would've been happy with the 2MP AF W610i camera cause it's ten times better than SE's extremely crappy non-AF cameras.

And I'm still amazed people actually care about the built-in speaker. Why would one use those crappy speakers when you've got great headphones which deliver far better sound?

I agree!!

Posted by goldenface
I'm a bit sceptical about presenting one speaker as being 'Stereo'. Does sound come from both the Main and Front speaker? MMMMMMM, I don't think I'd fall for that one.

I think the time is right for a Walkman phone with 3.2MP AF. SE has done really well out of the W810i, which is 18 months old and outselling more recent additions to its portfolio.

W960! surprise!

Posted by goldenface
^^Yeah but not at that price

Posted by Merkie2
It's a completely different class. I want something slim stylish AND a good camera. T650i would be mine if it had a Walkman player (which could've been W890i). The other upcoming high-end devices are way "over-featured" for me. Don't need GPS, don't need WiFi, don't need UIQ.

lovely phone actually! smooth menu and walkman player. nice to have HSPDA on such a slim phone. and it comes with a 2Gb M2!

Posted by gareb
Looks like the one I wanna have no matter which color.

We all know that...

Does anyone else feel it resembles the Nokia N73 a bit?

Posted by >500
i take it the phone is all metal then going by the pics? Not like w880i where the back was the rubbery plastic!

Why don't they do phones like that?!

Yeah the silver looks quite a bit, but the rounded edges reminds me of W960!

loved the black one

Posted by soane28
silver looks great! how big is the screen? 2 inch? Looks like they could of fit a 2.2 inch screen but other than that great work!

Posted by SloopJohnB
predictable
boring

Posted by aldrinus
mweb_ was right on spot, a 3.2mp camera with no AF?

i know very well that this is a "design" unit but being able to put a 3.2mp camera sensor on this "very" slim unit without AF? why not SE? O_O

THAT should have been the icing on the cake!

its almost a well-rounded unit...

Posted by hgautam
That would have given K770 a direct competitor. A slimmer phone having as good camera as K770??? Wouldn't that affect K770??? From SE's point of view???

Posted by technical-expert
Now a days its impposible to buy a SE phone without sacrificying anything.

so what if the w380 rings while it's in your pocket.so you put your hand in your pocket to take the phone out, won't it mistake it for sweeping your hand over the camera and drop the call?
