28 February 2006 by
Sony Ericsson today expanded its growing line-up of Walkman phones with the W300, a quad band EDGE clamshell which aims to bring the mobile phone Walkman experience to an even greater market

With the same great Walkman music quality experience as high-end models, a compact and eye catching design plus integrated camera, the W300 allows new users to enjoy the Sony Ericsson mobile music experience.

With today’s announcement of the W300 Sony Ericsson has now launched a total of seven Walkman phones, targeted at different customer needs and life-style choices. From high-end UMTS models aimed at users who want to enjoy over-the-air downloads, high-speed email and internet connectivity to models targeting more casual music listeners such as the W600 and W800, Sony Ericsson aims to create a Walkman mobile phone for everyone, everywhere.

The W300 Walkman phone, which supports both MP3 and AAC music files, offers a great sound experience with up to 30 hours of music listening. The user experience is enhanced by direct music keys, shuffle function, as well as an in-built FM radio with RDS and flight mode. Disc2phone software supplied with the phone, allows users to easily transfer their favourite CDs to their mobile phone and enjoy them anywhere, anytime without missing a call.

SonyEricsson W300 WalkmanFeaturing expressive colours and a stylish compact design, the W300 is shipped with removable 256 MB Memory Stick Micro (M2) expandable to 1 GB, as well as a stereo headset, USB cable and music management software.

In addition to the great music features, the W300 offers an easy way to take and view great snap-shot pictures or record videos using the integrated camera with 4x digital zoom. The phone’s 262K TFT colour screen makes it perfect for taking fun snap-shot images and enjoying them on the screen, while full MMS support enables these images to be shared with friends and family.

The monochrome 1" sub display on the outside of the clamshell allows users to view media player information or caller display without opening the phone.

The W300 is equipped with EDGE Class 10 technology, to allow quick and easy data transfers and Internet access, as well as Bluetooth ideal for sharing data with other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

The Sony Ericsson W300 will be available in Shimmering White and Shadow Black colour variants and starts shipping in Q2 2006.

hey has SE gone nuts? why the heck are they bothering with a VGA camera???they went out of style in 2005 itself, with the advent of 1.0 MP cameras and now 2.0 MP cameras are flouting the market. This seemed like a good deal,if the camera was 1.3 MP atleast!
