Press Release:

(Siemens mobile) today unveils the premium messaging mobile phone for business professionals, the SK65. The first handset to offer complete e-mail management thanks to BlackBerry Built-In technology, the SK65 brings speed and efficiency to business professionals on the move. Offering high quality looks, with a contemporary, yet timeless design, the tri-band SK65 is the perfect handset for those who expect outstanding quality.

Seamlessly combining technology with style, the SK65 is designed to suit the most discerning business professional. At the forefront of innovative design, the SK65 incorporates a unique, x2type (cross-to-type) full-sized keyboard which is revealed by turning the phone and that can be folded away discreetly when no longer needed. Designed to be functional the x2type keyboard, allows fast, easy text input and uncomplicated e-mailing for when you really need to stay in touch.

The SK65 offers the highest level of e-mail management available on a mobile phone, thanks to the BlackBerry Built-In licensing program from Research In Motion (RIM). The SK65 with BlackBerry Built-In supports 'always on', push-based access to e-mail, calendar and business information through BlackBerry® applications. E-mails received on your desktop computer are automatically sent to your mobile phone so you can read and answer them while out of the office. To save you more time, all your replies are instantly synchronized with your office system. Additionally, Siemens mobile has created different versions of the SK65 to suit a range of messaging needs and to complement distinct e-mail systems.

These versions range from a standard variant which allows manual transfer of messages from an e-mail account to the mobile phone, through to variants that use BlackBerry Built-In so that e-mails are automatically sent to your handset. You can then further select either BlackBerry Web Client or BlackBerry Enterprise Server. The first is ideal for a small or home office e-mail systems, whereas the second solution is designed for larger corporations and provides access to the corporate server through the firewall. Additionally, this solution assists professionals that spend long periods of time on the road as the SK65 enables remote access to specific programmes and databases on a company's intranet using the Mobile Data Service (MDS) feature of BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Thorsten Heins, President of Mobile Phones within Siemens mobile, commented: "e;The SK65 is an ingenious all-in-one solution for business professionals that allows you to stay in control and informed wherever you travel. With a full set of messaging features it means you have greater flexibility about where and when you work and with a contemporary, yet timeless design it delivers outstanding performance in technology and looks.''

Packed full of premium business features, the SK65 has 64MB internal memory for managing large amounts of data, and up to 30MB free for storing personal information such as e-mails and java applications. It has a large 132 x 176 pixel TFT 64k color screen, and a talk time of 300 minutes (250 hour stand-by). Its tri-band functionality means it can be used almost anywhere in the world, whilst the language help function means you always have a phrasebook in your pocket. Games including 'The Chess master', Golf and Sea Battle take the boredom out of traveling.

For true multi-taskers, the SK65 can save you more time with the Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) feature which is included in the standard variant. PoC lets you talk to a group of friends at once, as if you were using a walkie-talkie. Making a dinner date or changing plans suddenly becomes hassle-free: you have the immediacy of voice but the option to involve a group, all at the touch of a button. There is also Bluetooth wireless technology for hands free calling and a range of Headsets and Car Kit solutions for maximum convenience. Additional accessories include chargers, a SyncStation and data cables, a spare battery and a practical leather holster.

The phone will be available in Europe, Middle East and Latin America from November 2004. Other regions will follow shortly afterwards.
