Being one of the largest manufacture of OLED displays, Samsung know how to make them and what it requires to be the leader in this field. The Korean company invest over 8.5 billion USD in research and development each year and some of these money goes into the Samsung Display business. One of the advantages by develop display technology in-house, is that Samsung products such as smartphones often are among the first devices to have the new technologies implemented.
According to Korean Times, Samsung will introduce Flexible AMOLED display on the next version of the Galaxy Note smartphone / phablet. The Samsung Galaxy Note is rumoured to have large 5.5 inch display and the smartphone will be announced during the Samsung Unpacked event in Berlin later this month.
