Kddi's New Bluetooth pen

22 July 2004 by axxxr
A pen with an internal Bluetooth function, jointly developed with Anoto of Sweden.

This product, announced by Hitachi Maxell last summer, already has a version that connects with USB shipping; but this is the first demonstration of a Bluetooth model. It works just like filling out surveys; users write in designated spaces using the pen. A camera next to the tip of the pen records the lines it leaves, and this data is transferred by Bluetooth to the "A5504T," and it can even be sent as a JPEG image attachment in an e-mail. It also features an OCR function, and even if Kanji are written, they can be recognized as text.
