Dont know if you've sorted this but a replacement battery cover direct from Sony Ericsson UK is just £5. Send them a message via the support page on their website and they will reply with where to send the money (place in Kent)
You dont have to send the phone. Just a cheque/postal order and your address, model of phone and colour required.
Have just done this for my white mini pro.
