On-Screen Display patch by Amir_82111 can be found HERE

what is this?
simply, this is a supermode driver... different approach to manage camera parameters by included additional functionality layer which is not available in original driver. this may sound as complication but in skilled hands can be a great solution. functions offers manual control over selected camera parameters - you can set specific value or bring back automatic state of parameter if you changed your mind. thanks to additional functionality layer the phone is more like digital camera, not just a simple camera phone. more informations you can find in readme.txt file, read it before use to avoid problems

do I have to set all parameters before shot?
this would be insane! absolutely NO! when you open the camera it is in fine tuned automatic mode which means that:

1. YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE functions, use them only if you want
2. camera is still good POINT AND SHOT solution
3. all parameters are automatic unless some of them won't be changed manually

how to make things easier?
driver is using zoom bar graphics (top left corner) to display value of parameter. however there are no digits nor orientation markers! using camera in this case is very uncomfortable. I have resolved this issue in my phone by graphic replacement (patch) of zoom bar. I attached my zoom bar modification but you can create your own using THIS tool or use patch by Amir_82111 (link at top of post)

customization
you want to change positions of functions? or maybe you need bigger colors saturation? other video frame rate? it's very simple, just look inside customization.txt file

how to change positions of functions:

Enhanced Modes
it's a new and main feature which can dramatically improve picture quality in low light conditions. look at 100% crops below to see how modes work...

#1 is standard automatic mode
ISO 640, exposure time 1/8s
a lot of noise, huge loss of details and underexposed scene

#2 is hybrid SEM
ISO 400, exposure time 1/3s
better quality but still weak

#3 is hybrid EM
ISO 200, exposure time 3/4s
quality is much better. lower ISO and longer exposure time can do the trick, however exposure time is crucial parameter from now. if you can't hold your hand still then you should expect more or less blurred pictures in low light conditions. if you have nearby stable support for the camera - use it!

hybrid modes are sort of compromise between quality and exposure time. they can help a lot if you can't hold hand still for too long time but you need better quality

#4 is SEM
ISO 100, exposure time 1s
from now ISO 100 will try to preserve as much details as possible

#5 is EM
ISO 100, exposure time 2s
actually this is what K800 really can do when pushed to max - lowest ISO and longest exposure time

all mentioned above modes are fully automatic, all you have to do is to enable them and enjoy results. however it's not all what they can do because 2 of them (SEM and EM) can be used together with manual ISO. results are quite interesting. for example manual ISO 250...

#6 is +EM
ISO 250, exposure time 2s
exposure time used together (+) with manually selected ISO value. this mode might be very helpful in very dark conditions when xenon lamp is useless (bright subject at large distance)

#7 is -EM
ISO 250, exposure time 3/4s
in this mode exposure time is reduced (-) by ISO value which means: higher ISO = lower exposure time = loss of details. in some aspects this mode is very similar to hybrid EM but in this mode you can fully control compromise of quality and speed

for SEM mode names are respectively +SEM and -SEM

Auto Exposure Bracketing assistant
it's not a real AEB like in digital cameras because several successive shots at once cannot be done. in spite of this inconvenience assistant is still nice facilitation for all amateurs of HDR photography. that's because of 2 simplifications:

- no need to change EV manually. assistant automatically changes value of EV after every taken photo
- no need to use autofocus for every photo. assistant remembers position of focus from 1st photo and use it in next photos

comparision table:

red box - area of potential problems like the camera movements or different results of autofocus. enabled AEB function means a shorter duration of the sequence, less likely to move the camera and constant result of autofocus

green box - most intuitive set of EV with old and well known joystick left/right instead of supermode function (+0.3)

any known issues?
yep, however some of them are not because of my work (* = all drivers)

- some of manually changed parameters are canceled after scene change while others are not

* black viewfinder for a few seconds after slow shutter speed shot

* faulty exposure times in EXIF (problem of many SE phones)
3/4s (real is 4/3s)
4/3s (real is 3/4s)
3/5s (real might be 3/5s or 5/3s)

* wierd vertical stripes on some pictures
solution: force ISO 100 or use v6.6.4

NOTE THAT THIS IS A HARDWARE PROBLEM AND IS NOT CAUSED BY DRIVER!

* AE lock (half shutter) doesn't work if infinity focus is selected in camera menu. because of this issue you cannot on/off preview for manual shutter speed, ISO and focus (half press and release)
solution for AE lock: use focus infinity function (only on scene which is not using menu infinity focus) or use AE lock function

* AF is unavailable even if selected scene doesn't use it (no infinity icon in bottom left corner)
solution: go back to Auto scene, change in menu infinity focus to any other, you can use other scene now

Wonderful! Finally, Raiderski releases our dreamed camdriver.
I've download and read manual, but still could not understand clearly how to adjust shutter speed, due to my bad brane.

Great!

Btw, how do we enable SEM or EM?

Also, is it possible to WB on a white paper?
Strong's K750/W810 driver has this, and I'm wondering if it is possible to do that in K800.

As always, your phylosophical point of view

pietropizzi
Will you make a .vkp patch for all of us?

Raiderski
1. OMG, could you traduce the comments to english? I understand quite nothing lol
2. As you know, the forced flash is a cool technique. It will be good if you add an option for it in customization section, don't you think so?

Raider what is the base of your driver ? When everything is AUTO it is like stock driver or it has it's own values that U equipped it ?

Posted by Raiderski
tphg
open readme.txt
go to 'functions'

look at first table
this table contains EV positions and connected with them parameters
find shutter speed (it is at +0.7EV = fast, +1.0EV = slow)

now look at second table
this table is describing values for all functions
find shutter speed

remember about this feature:
manual shutter speed realtime preview on/off on demand (half press and release)
preview on -> see how shutter speed looks like
preview off -> focus -> shot

SEM shot: open camera -> +0.7/+1.0EV -> value 1
EM shot: open camera -> +0.7/+1.0EV -> value 2

Mike2
not yet, but i'm thinking about this WB feature. look above

brazuka
you welcome

Joma
1. I will think about this (a lot of work)
2. dropped at "to do" list
BTW. sorry for no reply at PM, now you know why

sacirxposed
I don't see nothing attractive in this function. sharpness is declared in 4 ways:
- normal scene (auto, landscape, portrait, beach/snow, sport)
- low light (twilight) scenes
- document scene
- all macro enabled shots (no matter of selected scene)

I think that is enough

jokamaciek
stock things are bad of course there was nothing left from stock driver settings. everything is modified

Don't worry man.

BTW: EV <-> Functions config is perfect but I miss a extra slot for brightness! I like to tweak it in flash pics (reduces noise visibility a lot) Maybe I take zoom apart

You know I think about it !
Now I'm testing the driver "out of the box"
But then I will take a deep breath, a glass of wine and begin to study the print out readme file.... (man, when was last time I studied a manual....)

Everything is good Only i dont know what value is set(waiting some edited zoom bar)...

digital zoom is actually very useful - not for taking a picture with zoom, but using zoom to set your shutter speed. sometimes when you are taking a picture with manual settings and the scene is complex, it is difficult to figure out what shutter speed to use. i often use zoom, to zoom into object that i want to capture in a scene and then manually change shutter speed, till the object i want to capture appears best on the screen. it is easier to do this when you are zoomed into object. i then zoom out and take the picture, hopefully capturing the object with the best possible shutter setting. you can only do this with static objects (obviously) when you have time to frame a picture.

@Raider
congats on new driver. damn i'm going to have to upgrade my w810 now!

I have not tested this driver yet but I had the same issue when I putted xenon ISO and normal ISO together in my beta.

First maybe helpful picture exchange:

From to

Will not win a gfx-price but can help in the learning phase...
It's readable and working.
Modding the Zoombar is now somehow different as the values are not spanned to the whole range of the bar, they use different ranges beginning from left. I'm thinking....

Maybe to exchange help picture(when press 0) with that picture with EV settings

Of course we can, I thought about that too but without loosing the normal help buttons.
There are many options how to achieve that SM-helpscreen, even in the modded Zoombar too. But seeing the different slots while setting EV seems logical.....

this is your M2 problem. if you're trying to say that driver is source of this problem than relax - it's not. driver don't have access to file I/O operations on your memory. I have 2GB M2, photo counter is ~4000 without any problems

milan & joma
Tryed to set ISO then to take pic but flash dont fire, can we set and ISO for xennon or not?

ohh, that's simple:
1. ISO value is used in AutoExposure calculations
2. calculated AE value is then used by driver to check if flash fire is needed

if we are in a dark place automatic ISO is high. if we manually set ISO to low value then calculated AE value will be high (which means good light but it's not true). in this case driver will say: good light? fine! there will be no flash fire

there is a simple solution to fix this (added to my "to do" list)

cronos555
haha! now you know what is the next phone which you should buy

Well I havent this problems when I use Withan or some other camdriver, Im think this is a camdriver problem
I have take 10 pics with super camdriver and 3 pics are like this I send to you, but with withan I never have this problems

Withan V3 + all settings from Super camdriver = Extra super camdriver

Right!

That's why I hate the "check if flash needed" procedure! I don't want a stupid algorithm to decide for me

We need this fix and the forced flash addon

as I wrote I never had problems, my friend also (~3000 photos with this driver). maybe something went wrong while connecting phone to PC

did you used any settings like 2sec shutter speed or EM?

Posted by sacirxposed
just manual focus for one picture and colour saturation for other pictures....

Posted by Raiderski
sacirxposed
so, it's not driver fault. all I can do is to corrupt jpeg header with wrong snapshot sequence, of course this doesn't happening in released version

Posted by number1
why is the EM code for k800i so comicated not like the k750/w800 em code which was quite simple i could get you em code to work in my driver.
I like the way you improved the AF it's alot faster than it was, would it be a better idea be to use #COM_EVENT(03,xx) for EM mode then you can have something like 1/2 sec shutter iso 200 and with #COM_EVENT(03,xx) it can calculate the exposure time itself it only needs to be seperated from the autofocus i tried a few things myself putting #COM_EVENT(03,0f) at the start of seq_set_prop_a runs the af at a minium of 7,5fps but still effects the shutter speed just need to find a way to update #COM_EVENT(03,xx) at the end of focusing or something.

search wiki

high iso and quick shutter can be used for freezing raindrops etc,
low iso and high shutter can be used to create a motion effect of for low noise nightpics.

I'm not forcing to use it and it's not a 'pro' only, I don't know why people are still thinking in this way. this code can work as normal driver, optionally you can even enable manual focus and enhanced mode. I know, I must explain customization

ok thanks, if you could explain the basics i'm sure i'll get the hang of it.
i understand it a bit bit's are similar to the old k750/w800 em code, your driver has been teaching me polish though

dokument = document
makro = macro
manualny = manual
kompresja = compression
scena = scene
informacje = information
stabilizacja = stabilizer
rejestry = registry
neutralny= neutral
efekty= effect
focusa= focus
operacje= operation
portret = portrait

i didn't use a translator just logical thinking some look like the english words just spelt wrong.

number1 Polish lang is much more different than English and much more harder. English says document(s) in every situation. Polish says dokument, dokumentu, dokumentowi, dokumentem, dokumenty in different situations It isn't as easy as U think That's why most Polish know English and not many English know Polish
