Just a quick question, how much does this effect the battery when you have swiss manager running all the time?

Your mileage may vary, but there is an M600 lying next to me that is used only for testing, and SMP is running on it continuously - its uptime is currently 15 days, battery level is 82 %, and I honestly don't remember when it was charged last time.

Posted by HarvJH
Bloody hell. Thats crazy, my p990 doesn't last that long with Swiss manager constantly working. I can't think of a good place to place the icon. Can you recommend anywhere good to have it?

Posted by scroitoru
I suppose the M600 is just on standby mode.
Cannot believe the battery is only at 82% if the phone is under normal usage though. That is impossible.

Yes, you are absolutely right. As I said, the mentioned phone is only used for testing, so it's mainly idling - therefore it's perfect for judging whether SMP by itself consumes a lot of energy or not (which was the question above).

Sorry, i know i have already posted part of this but I can't think of a good place to place the icon. Can you recommend anywhere good to have it?

@HarvJH
Back when I tried out SM Pro 1.0 with the old FW, I had it in the upper left corner, and it was never in the way of anything (just a few fullscreen apps, but then you can hide it. With it being transparent no, that would work even better. I've returned to the free version for now, though... (Might buy Pro later, just to get the icon and FC operation, but don't feel a great enough need (sorry Lisa, it truly is a great app, honest!) to buy it right now...)

Posted by HarvJH
Oh right, i haven't upgraded yet. Cheers

Posted by koolezt
joshiestevens, just go ahead and start exercising the phone without sm, you'll find out soon enough what it can do.

"Connections manager" app seems to get kill each time, even thou i have set to none in "include in end all". I need the connections manager to always on to keep track on how much i'm downloading in current connection. Does anyone else have this problem? i am using 1.30 with m600i. Thx

This has been corrected for the next release: the "End all" command will respect the exclusion setting for the ConnMgr. Please note that the Level 3 Memory release command will still kill this program.

Just uninstall and reinstall. Dont do the update

Posted by Osmano
If I understand you right: Uninstall Swiss mgr pro 1.30 and install Swiss mgr pro 1.40?

Posted by Tail
Yes, thats right

Posted by scotland67
uninstalled 1.30, then installed v1.40. But everytime I open SMP and enter my reg no, SMP immediately causes p990i to "restart for performance". Have tried 5 times, even with default theme, but always same. Help please?

i have the same problem

And so do I. Downloaded ver. 1.40 late last night. Very annoying.

Posted by Johnex
i did an upgrade, works fine then

Posted by ares
I also upgraded, no probs

Posted by davidgp
Updated my free version. Works Ok.
Does not kill the connections manager anymore, which I find annoying.

Posted by scotland67
So, rather than uninstall v1.30... and install v1.40, it looks like I should have instead simply ugraded to v1.40 on top of existing v1.30?

Therefore, guess I'll now have to uninstall v1.40... re-install v1.30... then try the upgrade to v1.40?

Will try this evening when I get home.

@scotland67

That's what I tried to do. When I tried to enter settings in ver. 1.40 it just shut down the app. I have a feeling that the file may be corupt. Where is Lisa? LISA!!!

We would like to correct this problem, but so far can not reproduce it, apparently it happens on a few phones. Probably it is related to the Status icon. Do you see the icon before you open the Settings dialog and get the error? If yes then how exactly it looks like?

Those having problems with registering SMP please send Email to our support address, mentioning your serial number, and we will be glad to assist.

I've heard tail that the phone restarting issue may be related to using an illegal serial. Thus, you guys who are having the problem, are you sure that you've got a legit serial number?

I upgraded my W950 from v1.30 to v1.40 without any problems whatsoever (i.e. there was no need for me to uninstall the prior version before installing the new one).

Posted by Tail
I had to uninstall the 1.30 version before I installed the 1.40. And I have a legit serial number. I could not do the update

Posted by Zed@CPS
Let's sharply distinguish two independent issues:

(1) Crash on some phones when entering the Settings dialog. Can be solved by a fresh full install. We need more description for correcting this (see above post).

(2) Difficulties with registration. If this happens, contact us via Email with the serial.

@Lisa

I did nr. 1 and it worked. I uninstalled 1.30 and installed 1.40. Now it works. My problem ocuured when i tried to upgrade. Thanks Tail for your help.

I am in nš (1): i did a full install, work one day and then it happened again! (and i have a legal serial number!)
Did the same this moment and i hope it'll works....

Posted by Zed@CPS
Can you please describe exactly what and how "happened again", what it seems to depend on, and if you can reproduce it. There is definitely a bug somewhere but we can catch it only if we get sufficient info.

Posted by jalf
i did nothing special, tried to backup with SE pc suite smartphone, resart p990i and... it happens again...

i hope this helps you, Lisa

well as i said to shelter1963 at my-symbian forum, i think that's when we select none for the icon...

@Lisa

My registration problem is sorted now... I dug out my original Handango email from when I purchased SMPro, and typed the CORRECT reg key... happy to report all now ok with v1.40.

Posted by Zed@CPS
SM Pro version 1.41 is now available for download. The Settings/Icon-related "SAUI 1900" crash is fixed, no other changes.

Lisa thanks...

@Lisa:
The thing with fixed icons becoming transparent is a bit confusing. If it's possible to set a fixed background (non-transparent) to the icon, why does the fixed icons "blink", so to speak? Is the problem getting the background from the theme?

Anyway, the icon still is transparent at all times in FC mode, except for a few times after fiddling around in the app window (in FC mode), when it gets the FO statusbar background (P990 themes can have separate statusbar backgrounds for FO/FC). Opening and then closing the flip makes the normal battery icon show beneath the icon once again. :S

I'd LOVE this to be fixed (or avoided by adding the possibility to use standard or detailed in FC while using fixed in FO), even though it doesn't bother me a lot now. In fact, I bought the app this friday, at last!

Posted by Tail
I agree with firetech, hope this will get fixed

Yes, it's a theme-related problem which is rather hard to overcome.

A new version of SM Pro is coming soon with this problem (hopefully) fixed.

This sounds really great "wating"

@Lisa:
Great, even more service for my money!

Posted by Zed@CPS
New version 1.43 for Swiss Manager Pro is released. Changes:
- keyboard shortcuts for some commands,
- improved appearance for the Fixed icon format,
- bugfixes, optimizations.
Upgrade is free - enjoy!

Posted by firetech
Thanks Lisa!

Fixed icon looks SO much better now!

Now I'm just being picky (it's a simple question, I am VERY satisfied with 1.43!), but isn't it possible to get the FC statusbar background out of the current theme? (Try the Vista 1.3 theme for example.) I haven't tried developing for UIQ yet (not even Symbian), so I'm a newbie in this area...

Anyway, the hardware button thingie is great, I've pressed the back button by mistake (in the file view) way too many times to be counted

Keep up the GREAT work!
