SonyEricsson recall T65 mobile phone
30 January 2002 SonyEricsson now encourage distributors of the popular T65 to recall all devices in stock ![]() In middle of January several distributors reported that the T65 had a serious fault in the loudspeaker. Customers complained that the phone was noisy when the display light was turned on. SonyEricsson could confirm that they had some problems with the October shipment and promised to investigate the case further. Last week SonyEricsson sent out a request to all it's distributors to send back the phones remaining in stock. They did this to make sure that all models sold to end-users would be working properly. "We now have a good balance between supply and demand for the T65," says Roger Bolander. But the situation is worse for the high-end T68 model. It's still difficult to get hold of this popular model in stores. The demand is still too high. According to several Swedish distributors, the supply is far to low for this model. "We are receiving around 10 percent of what we could have sold" says Stefan Olsson from Cellstar, one of Sweden's largest distributors.
