Airtel sims dont have pin2. Is there any way i could use the fixed dialling, since it needs a pin2?

Posted by whizkidd
Strange. Why no a pin2? Did you call cc guys (and gals:-D!!)

Posted by niranjan007
Yeah! The gals told me their sims dont have pin2;-)

Posted by whizkidd
Thats weird. Do only SE phones have this pin2 thingy?

Posted by govigov
It does have pin2. With the knowledge of pin2, we can change our tariffs to whatever we like. So it is never given out. They are told to tell pin2 does not exist.

Posted by whizkidd
So how do you possibly find out the pin2?

Posted by govigov
You need a police certificate and proof on why you need pin2.

Posted by whizkidd
Why on earth?

Posted by govigov
As i said, you can change your tariff and get free calls.

Posted by whizkidd
I don't get how its done?

Posted by govigov
There is a call cost section under call timers, right? You can "set tariff" there.

mate i m using airtel and have pin2 no it must be in ur sim my pin2 no 1234 or may be 0000 and try on 4321 i think ur pin no 1234 try this every sim have pin2 no.

Posted by whizkidd
Set tariff menu i know. But how can it affect your bills!

Posted by govigov
It changes your tariff to whatever you choose!

Posted by whizkidd
Man, have you tried it?

Posted by govigov
Nope. Because. I'm yet to find out my pin2. (And i dont know how either. :-( )

Posted by whizkidd
Govi, i think, the tariff menu is for up to know how much we are spending on the phone. It calculates the bill by analysing the call duration. How can it affect our bills? I don't think it can!

Posted by govigov
Whiz, i have worked for a mobile company for some time.

Posted by whizkidd
But tell me how it can affect the call bills? Are networks so outdated that the bills can be controlled by an user? Strange.

Posted by govigov
The option for user to control is the essence.

Posted by whizkidd
Still confused....

Posted by govigov
:-)

Posted by whizkidd
I would love to find out my pin if thats really possible!

Posted by govigov
Pin is possible. Just call them and ask for it. Default is 0000. Puk you can call and ask. Pin2 you will not get. If your phone asks for puk2, get a new sim.

Posted by whizkidd
Ya i meant the pin2 in the previous post.

Posted by govigov
Call up cc and hear what they have to say. :-)

Posted by whizkidd
No need. I know a guy from Airtel.

Posted by niranjan007
Called up cc and asked a gal:-D for pin2. She said Airtel sims dont support it. She have me a number and said i find out pin2 for SEs. I'll call now......

Posted by whizkidd
Seems interesting.......

Posted by niranjan007
Damn! Its giving the busy tone

Posted by govigov
@niru, what did you do?

Posted by niranjan007
Oh man! The Damned no. Is still busy:-[. May be they gave a false number... @gov he what you say about pin2 is true, then why do hutch provide pin2?

Posted by whizkidd
Hmmm...are you sure hutch provides pin2?

Posted by govigov
afaik, hutch will not provide pin2

Posted by niranjan007
Yeah, i was on hutch before you know.

Posted by nitesh
Hey guys my fri runs an small orange shop . I ll try to find out the pin2 code and post them . And yes pin2 does exit on hutch because i had blocked mine years before on a nokia

Posted by niranjan007
Man! I thot pin2 was given in the booklet that comes with the sim-i looked up mine, but didnt find it! Its gotta be 0000 as that was what i entered when changing pin2 on my old hutch card. I used fixed dialling with the new code and it did work. @gov i guess what you said might be true after all...

Posted by niranjan007
Tried on a hutch sim-default pin2 is 0000:-)

Posted by whizkidd
So where does Govis theory stand now?

Posted by govigov
it is still standing strong :P

Posted by niranjan007
@whiz i assume you too have blocked your pin2, like me:-D?

Posted by phsychomantis
Hi i think there's difference between pin2 and puk2

Posted by whizkidd
Of course my PIN2 is blocked! And yes, PIN and PUK are different stuff. PUK is what you need if you want to unlock a blocked pin.

Posted by niranjan007
...And puk2 is for unblocking pin2

Posted by whizkidd
Hey Niru, what does the T230 manual say about the set tariff and credit menu? I can't find my manual. :-(

Posted by niranjan007
The manual says certain services are protected by pin2. Nothing else is mentioned about pin2. I think got was right. Did you ask for your puk2? I'll call cc in the evening:-)

Posted by sahils.way
Its fairly simple for Bharti Airtel. PUK code is same for Pin1 and Pin2. Ask for a PUK code from Customer Care, You will need to provide last five digits of your Sim Card number which is printed on Sim card and need to confirm your identity by answering few questions.

Once you have the PUK code enter 3 wrong pin's for Pin2 and unblock it with PUK code proivded. It would then ask you for new Pin2... enjoy

This worked fine for me !!
