UIQ i think...

Posted by jcwhite_uk
I got my DBA-10 and HBH-10 Kit this morning. Its brand new and complete with Travel charger (including several different adapters), Recharge station, Hard case for headset and charge station and belt holder for the headset. It works perfectly with my T28s. I will try it with other phones later and try to upload some pics of it. It was an absolute bargain at £9.99 plus delivery.

Posted by BobaFett
@jc congratulate! Got one too, pls try dba10, the manual says, it can be used for data transfer, but had no possibility to test it.

Posted by jcwhite_uk
@bobafett
Will do. For now, here are pics of the kit:

If you want one of these kits then the people who I bought this from have another for sale on ebay here

will show some pics in a few months, waiting on a new computer, my cam doesn't seem to work right with this old computer.

that MC218 will be running on epoc. one of the early stages of symbian. mainly developed by psion (that company that dropped out of symbian a few months ago).

Posted by BobaFett
@jc thx for pix! The case for headset is so stylish! @bart the quartz was a working one, right?

Posted by bart
yes that /// communicator was a working device. mostly inteded to show providers what the future holds. and to show other phone builders how far ahead /// was

Posted by batesie

Mine says made in Fl. I presume that is Finland.

Posted by bart
just delcared war to the belgian SEMC people.
they failed to do what i asked and now they'll get the consiquences.
usep.be has ended activities. site will be offline at the end of the year.
during that time i'll be working on a site dedicated to ///
as i procede with the site i'll be asking some of you for help to make some article and stuff.
ofcourse you guys will be named as the most lolay ericsson fans of all time!

Posted by BobaFett
@jc thats finland. T66 was the only i saw til now made in finland. @bart good luck, for any support u know where to come!

Posted by jcwhite_uk
@bart good luck with the new site. If you need i will try my best to help.

Posted by bart
T66 is made by microcell. its the only company that made good phones for ///.
unlike the A3618 and R600 that were also made by another company. those were not very good phones.

Posted by BobaFett
@bart u mean design, fw etc aswell or just manufacturing?

Posted by ThreeX
T66 FW is standard issue Ericsson AFAIK
The T66 is somewhat frowned upon by my SE Lund friend and apparently staff in general..
I do like mine though

Posted by wapt
and the phones by third party companies are short of connective capabilities. The wap browser is not that good either.

Posted by BobaFett
Weird, that r600 doesny fits r series. Especially the changrable backlight is funny.

Posted by BobaFett
Actually, r600, a2618 etc were made more for the asian market imo, according design and features like changeable backlight.

Posted by wapt
The other one A3618 has also changable back colour. Right?

Posted by bart
the idea of changeable backlight was very good. but nobody knew it was possible. even most people who have one don't know it.
i think the first phone with changeable backlights was a panasonic. GD95 or somthing like that

Posted by BobaFett
@wapt right! @bart the gd was the first one, but imo its a childish feature, dont get the real point of it.

Posted by bart
its not that childish, its a more personal touch to a phone.
some people liked a blue backlight, i myself light the aquagreen one that most /// phones had after the T28

Posted by BobaFett
Maybe those backlight would look better with oled technology, like in t28. Why choose /// the normal leds in that fones?

Posted by bart
ericsson used a backlight instead of leds like most other companies did.
OLED was invented a few years after the T28 so they couldn've used it.

Posted by wapt
I like the green backlight too. don't like blue one that some brands have.

Posted by BobaFett
@wapt how do u like r600? Any idea how does it come, that its an r model? Next to the other r models, bit weird.

Posted by jcwhite_uk
I didnt like the look of the R600. I dont think that Ericsson put much effort into the design.

Posted by BobaFett
There is a bit from r68 design in it imo, the first /// fone, where battery and cover arent together.

Posted by wapt
@boba and jc, R600 is not as good as the others from R series but OK for use. You can notice the difference in design, manufacturing and software if you compare it with the other pure Ericsson phones.

Wasnt the A2618 released before the R600? That had sepearte battery and cover.

Posted by bart
boba i would rather say the A2628 that phone was earlyer then the A3618 whit the battery and the back cover not together

edit: looks like some one was before me

Did you try the dba10? Can it be used as a modem. I know you said "no" earlier, making sure, now that you have it.

Posted by jcwhite_uk
I have just tried my DBA10 with my T28s. I can use a bluetooth headset without any hassle. After installing all the software on my laptop (software doesnt appear to work under Win XP) I tried to use the dial up networking to no avail. I cant get it to work. The dba10 doesnt appear to work with my R320s at all. I suspect that the software on the phone is too old.
If I have any more success I will let you all know.

Posted by govigov
thanks JC.

Posted by bart
mine should be arriving this week. i'll also test it with some of my /// phones.
looks like he tested it with a T28 and R320 (old software).
i'll give it a go on a T65, R320 (new sw) and T39 =>

i wonder if you would be able to send something via bluetooth from a T39 to the same T39 with a DBA-10 attached to it

Posted by jcwhite_uk
I have also tried it with a T65 and a T39m to no avail. Neither of them recognise the dba10.

Posted by BobaFett
@jc but why is then written in the manual, that dba10 can transfer data? Maybe just fonebook?

Posted by tranquil
Some more pics for your collection

Ericsson NH238 NMT
With every single tiny bit that came with the phone whaen it was new.
There is even a travelcharger that has never been used.
Oh yes, it works allright but the NMT network in Norway has beed taken down.

@Boba
Yes, that is an Ericsson desk phone in the top right hand corner.

@tranquil mange tak for billeder! Did u try dba10 for data transfer? With nmh u mean 450mh?

Posted by jcwhite_uk
I got another T39m today. It came with a BHC-10 battery. The battery must be nearly as big as the phone! I know people wanted to extend the battery life but carrying a brick around isnt the answer, especially when the standard battery lasts longer than most other phones.
