@KALIOSTRO
Thank you for posting everything you find and on the grass-pic, isn't that from a program installed on the R380? I do think so.

@all
I got a nice parcel today from a guy who had bought a new satellite phone and didn't need these

Posted by KALIOSTRO

Hey Buch, when you start the phone and the small phone and "Ericsson" appears, open the flip fast and you will see it

Hi Stolleman

I do see one thing that is different with the one on the right and it's the text "satellite" but are there any more that are different if you compare your protos vand your non proto?
And I love your sollutin to carry it in a Pelican case, it's a really good idea

Have anyone heard the Hotline song? not meen either, i need a player for this record

Posted by 103ssv
There are hardly any differences in appearence besides the font, only the side buttons on the middle one are different.
However the firmware is VERY different. The one on the left (P1b) is very limited, it has only one language; if you try somethong other then english it only displays code, also it will not charge a battery.
The middle (P1d) has a more mature firmware, however crashes when changing from GSM mode to Sat mode and only displays three bars on a full charged battery.

Does anyone know about A1018s firmware versions? My phone has ' CXC125263 prg 000415 0956 ' - is that an old version or a newer one? Apparently updating the firmware to a newer version prevents the antenna overheating, in turn preventing the common Ericsson "no access" problem developing. Any help?

Nice satellite collection. Here in my country (Philippines), we didnt have that model. Only the R190 was introduced. Very rare nowadays.

At a local cellphone shop amidst today's androids and ios: (around U$ 25 on sale), Surprised that they carry a couple of ericsson accessories.

Posted by bart
good to see that those phones are still alive and kicking. Hopefully some of the "new" users of today's cellphones got abit more respect for what Ericsson did

Posted by torshammer
Here is two of the latest updates of my collection.

An A2618s Coca Cola limited edition made for demo purposes. So I guess not made in great numbers.

A W30 LTE router made for test purposes I think. There is also a W35 that also could do fax and voice.
The routers also exist for HSUPA if I got it correctly.

Hello,

I'm Peter from Hungary, mobile phone collector (www.oldmobil.hu).

I started to develop a site for mobile collectors: http://www.mobilecollectors.net/
It is basicly an old phone database, but all of the content uploaded by collectors,
to help others to find old or rare phones. So it helps the collectors to share their
old mobile phones with eachother and maybe build community.
In case you upload a new phone, a new photo or you edit the already uploaded
ones, the address of you webpage will appear among the participants, this way
other visitors can also find your collection.

So if You think this is a good idea, check it!
I very welcome all Ericsson collector to develop and broaden Ericsson
phones section on www.mobilecollectors.net.

Thanks, and have a nice day,
Peter

Can anyone let me know if an A1018s/GA628 battery will fit and power up an earlier phone such as the GA318/PH388?

I know they're a slightly different shape, and the earlier batteries have a bulge, and a corresponding indent on the inside of the phone, but has anyone attempted to fit an A1018s/GA628 battery into a GA318/PH388? Did it work?

Posted by 103ssv
Today someting not really Ericsson, but related to it:

Unfortunately the battery is dead after more then 20 years

Posted by torshammer
@oldmobil Nice initiative! I have visited the site but not registered yet. Have you noticed this effort? -> Help edit the Ericsson phone list https://docs.google.com/sprea[....]kc1NlRGJmQzVJbmlyZUxWbkE#gid=0
Maybe it is possible to combine.

@103 I believe it is an Ericsson TEMS. The first one. I have a similar but branded TEMS. The first one was based on this Orbitel GSM device.

Guys, I need your help! I bought a T28s a couple of days before. It is in mint fast new condition but with master code unknown. How can I reset that code to 0000. Can it be done by just removing the backup battery or it could be only reflashed? I have a normal ericsson com cable but not one made for reflashing. I've read somewhere in the internet, that there are utils that can somehow obtain that code without flashing the eeprom.

Posted by KALIOSTRO
@kothor:
I had the same prob once with another phone.
Once I thought how to figure out the code, I came over the idea that in most of the cases people just put in their birthday. So from 9999 possibilities there are much less left !

So I´d tried manually only the numbers from 01 to 31 for the day and 01 to 12 for the month.
Remember, that in some countries first comes the day and then the month or vice versa.
In about half an hour I hacked the code

Good luck !

Nope, no dice

I think that wasn't posted here Pic is genuine

The first one is R2A - Date: 990823
The latest one is R8A1 - Date: 000925

Sure you don't need to flash your phone, but you need at least a flashing-cable.
Old (very old) progs like Ericsson ATR Service (by zulea) can reset the phonecode to 0000.

Ericsson ATR Serv features:

- FAST UNLOCK (~8sec.)
- Don't need flashing after unlocking
- Remove NCK, NSCK, CCK, SPCK
- Remove User Lock ( Security Code )
- (RE)LOCK to other Network Provider
- Change Phone IMEI ( any digits )
- Full Asia/China languages for all models
- Upgrade T10s to T18s ( Voice Dial )
- Net Monitor Menu On/Off

There have been some more good apps which can do the job at home without having an expensive flashing-box, but without a special cable there's no way.

Wow blast from the past this thread is. What greatness ... 10'600 posts (well less 2 just above for a "selling my R520m" & mine).

This thread shows the breadth of knowledge about Ericsson and the wealth of users past and current here on Esato. What a legacy!!

Posted by kothor
@Tiger, you are back! Haven't seen you for a long time here Do you still own some pieces from your old collection?
I've also found zulea's atrserv, which in v5 might help me.
I've actually found some other info and apps that could help me flash the phone without a terminator, but need to check it on the win98 powered pc, which nowadays is quite a rarity. I have one, but not at home, so that'd be my next step.

@all I do not collect boxes, but have a couple. Anyone interested? I send them for the package + shipping cost. Empty.
I have GA318, DS300, R320s, R380s, GA628, T68, DT200, PH388 one2one, A1018s one2one, T10s, R520m, MC12, T39mc, A2628s, GH198, GH172, EH237, Pager PTF118, PF768, R600. I am cleaning and will through them in the trash.

Posted by Stolleman
@torshammer
The boxes do take some serious space, those days they didn't make the boxes as smal as they have could

@all
Hi fellow collectors, I received today two Ericsson Hotline GM120 and as far as I know they're pretty hard to find and I didn't even know about the model before I got these units, it was a complete surprise for me

Though, my better half don't want me to install one in the car and I don't have to own two then, I will be open for trades for other rare Ericsson.

Posted by 103ssv
Must be Orbitel based, as it looks like the one I own.

103

Posted by Stolleman
It's no doubt that is Orbitel based unit

So how many Orbitel based Ericsson models do we know about? GM120, GO118 and GS18 is what I could think about right now.

One more nice phone is the NH51 but why did Ericsson made the red?

Posted by torshammer
@all Talking about trading. Anyone have a spare red R320 GPRS? That is the device I miss the most in my collection. It seems like that will be the last one to get. Someone else started his collection with that one.

@stolleman I thought about the red color as well. I have seen the phone mostly in Norway. They like the red color in Norway. Their flag is red, white and blue. Maybe that was a try to see if it sold better?

Posted by torshammer
Found this page the other day.
http://www.lekki.fr/en/11-ericsson-a2628

Posted by Stolleman
R320 GPRS has the most amazing red, I just love it! I talked with a guy who worked at Ericsson and had the chance to try it for a couple of weeks but he had to return it

That could be it, I haven't seen the NH51 more then in your collection, seems to be rare here in Sweden But I like the color and it would be fun to see green and blue models too.

One strange concept dummy I got is this Ericsson Dutyline, have anyone heard about it before? anyone knows about Hotline but Dutyline is news for me. This one is made out of a solid piece of heavy plastic and has a design almost like old Hotlines.

Posted by Stolleman
Come on, who can tell me more about Ericsson Duty line?It looks like a hybrid between GH17* and Curt.
I am really curious about the name and why it never came to life.

Posted by torshammer
I will check some sources.

Posted by cableguy
Spotted this on ebay
Ericsson MC128

http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Ericss[....]es_PDAs_JN&hash=item43be8b49e8

Posted by Stolleman
I forgot a detail on my Duty Line, the button on the side.

One phone i finally got after wanting it for so long is the TH337, this one is branded Telia but the best of all is that this is a prototype in mint condition, looks like Frankensteins phone and heavy as Curt, almost

I have recently got hold of a special device. It is the James Bond movie prop R600 the Mollaka's phone.
http://screenmusings.org/CasinoRoyale/pages/CR_0249.htm
And it is the real one used in the movie. It is a R600 with exchanged cover and a printed screen.

It has signs of wear, but that was the case in the movie.

Posted by 103ssv
Ha, funny to see the wear was strategically placed on the phone.
i know R600's are prone to wear, but never right above the display.

103

Posted by torshammer
Yes, and the casing is worn but not the buttons.
So they probably took a new front. Sandpapered it and put it on
to make the phone feels worn.

If you have a closer look to the "Duty line" you´ll realize that the basic form as well as the buttons are more round that from Curt or GH17x.
So I´d consider it to be a project a little bit AFTER the GH17x-Series, maybe around 1995.

Posted by KALIOSTRO
today´s Ebay-find: Apparently an Ericsson Combi Hotline from aprox. 1990:

Enjoy !

Just a few thoughts on the Dutyline.
I have talked to Lund people. They do not remember this one.

First, it is a Stockholm number in the display. It was the number to the switch
for many years. So it is probably a Stockholm project.
Second, the button on the side looks like a push-to-talk button.
Third, the name sounds like something for a commander, guard, police, fireman.
All in all it makes me think it is a public safety concept or a GSM-R concept.
These development groups were in Stockholm not Lund.

Posted by Stolleman
@Kaliostro,
The keypad is so much different from other Ericsson phones and what the orange was suposed to do is a mystery, on GH172 the on/off button was placed there but Dutyline does have it right to the orange button.

@torshammer,
Thank you for your thoughts, the Dutyline came from one who worked in Kumla but it's highly possible it could have been made in and sent from Stockholm. I wonder how the finished product would have looked like and the build qualtiy, an early sharkfin

Posting a mood pic at the portable 680, after so many years it does still start and making noises.

Posted by bucheral
@Stolleman, torshammer and all the other Ericsson mobile phone friends: finally I found the time to come back here We moved to a new house, my little son needs me more and more, and in the office I am working hard

What a superb TH337, Stolleman, you are a lucky man, I am still looking for it Please, what exactly is that portable 680? I have never seen it.

Congrats torshammer for that special R600 with colour screen, I think you have the JB988 too, don't you?
