I don't know at all which online tool we should use, I've never used one but Google Docs looks good and easy

@bucheral
Quoting r0sewhite:
"The most famous rarity is the T28 WORLD in urban grey. It was an officially released color but probably not in Europe."
Congrats Bucheral to your Urban Grey T28 WORLD

@bucheral
In your list, what does Schrack means?
And yes, you are a lucky guy

Posted by bucheral
Hi Stolleman
"Schrack" was the name of the EH72 and the GH172 in Austria, I do not know why they had a special name for that phone. Have a look here:
http://www.altehandys.de/mobi[....]e-l/ericsson/gh172schrack.html
Maybe because of the "Schrack Telecom AG"

Good night!

I started a database on Google Docs!
I did add some proto's to the list like the Wakaba etc...
You all can edit it with above URL
Posted by torshammer
@bucheral @stolleman I think the type number will help to see if it is a Schrack or not. The information I have now tells me that type 1321 is Schrack and type 1921 is the regular one
@ginz Thank you! I tried update it and it was saved. How does it work really when two edit at the same time?
Do you have to share to make it visible?
Below a picture of my last treasure. A beautiful LX 677.

@Torshammer
Not sure how it works if we change something that conflicting. But as you can see, you can see which cell I'm editing.
Posted by torshammer
@ginz Yes, I can see you editing. It seems like it takes care of the conflicts by itself.

Posted by Ginz
@Torshammer
With "Made by" I mean something like "Ericsson Sweden", "Solectron", "Sony Ericsson", "Orbitel"....
So, where it's coming from.
Posted by bucheral
@Ginz:
thank you very much for this! I just filled in the colours for the T28s, editing works well!

@all This was fun! But I have to go back to work

I just got this list confirmed.
The rumour behind the "Curt" is that it was named after Kurt Hellström the later CEO of Ericsson.

@Stolleman and Torshammer:
congrats for those nice phones! I always found that the LX677 was in some way something special

Posted by Stolleman
I like the keypad on LX677 much better then the one on GH688

Thank you bucheral

I like it when they have painted the bakside and battery too, looks relly good and S868 seems to be the one model with most Limited/Special Edition done, I wonder why.
Great to hear it was correct, but still there is a few thoughts I have.
// T68 - Mia
// T68m - Fia
Is Mia the codename for Sony Ericsson T68i?
// A3618 - MTI0012
Sounds strange, didn't they came up with a real name?
// 628 - Emma
// T1x - Emma 2
Sounds strange too.
// T20/T29 – Esther
T20 is Esther for sure but is T29 Esther too?
Just some thoughts

@Stolleman
T29 and T20 are the same. T20 does have a bit wider PCB, but that's it.... So, I think it's not strange that they have the same development name.

Hey Allon,
Good you read my mail... Thnx for coming here!
Everything else fine?

@all We have a good start. I will continue tomorrow. It is interesting to see the info grow
I put in my alias and a question. Maybe we could discuss question marks in the forum.
When was the Bertha made? Could they really have included LTE in it?

Wondering why it wasn't the opposite. I mean, the T68m should've been Mia and the T68, Fia.

Is Mia the codename for Sony Ericsson T68i?
Posted by Stolleman
@ginz
I accept that answer, I have never compared those PCBs.
But until further notice 628-Emma / T1x-Emma 2 will be a mystery

@all
To make it easy to find unreleased prototypes, should we collect them at the bottom on the list? I think it would be a lot easier to find.
Do anyone own a Ericsson R520m SyncML?

I will take another round with my source for the code names. The uncertain ones.
Well I thought it is easy to sort any column so if we have the prototype word in
a column (or à proto column) it is easily done.
Should we include concepts as well? Uhuru was à concept I think never materalizing
into à prototype?
What about Bertha? LTE or not LTE?
Posted by Stolleman
Should we have a column that says prototype or collect all the prototypes at the bottom?
I never heard about Uhuru, do you now more about it? any drawings or blueprints? I think we should list it

Now I remember about Nelly that I thinkwas cut of in EP, anyone who nows something about her?
Posted by Ginz
Yes, the Bertha was really equipped with LTE. I discovered this device in an Ericsson Networking booth outside the big halls at the CeBit in Hannover in 2007.
They even demonstrated it to me, but they clearly didn't know anymore specs than LTE. I figured out that it must have a touchscreen, but it wasn't working and they couldn't tell me if I was right or not.
-------
Yeah, why should we not list concepts? You never know, maybe they build one or two devices of that type? Like, do you all know the Red Jade? It was a coöperation between a Californian company called 'Red Jade' and Ericsson and they were about to develop a gaming device. Unfortunately that canceled the coöperation due to the joint venture with Sony. And we all know that Sony will not allow any competition with their Playstation.

About the R380w...
Are we sure it was a triple band device? Not only 900/1900, what was common these days
Posted by Ginz
And what about the T35? Never heard about that, expect from a mockup that Bart posted a while ago.
Posted by bucheral
@ginz:
good questions, T35? What could that be?

about the R380World, difficult to test for me in Switzerland

T35 found it:

There are no 1800Mhz networks in Switzerland?

Hello Ginz,
yes we have 900 and 1800Mhz in Switzerland, but no 1900Mhz

Check if you can find a 1800Mhz network with a R380w and you know enough
Ifso = It's a tripleband (900/1800/1900)
If not = It's a dualband (900/1900)
Posted by bucheral
I have tested the phone with all three mobile operators in Switzerland:
Swisscom (900), Sunrise (900) and Orange (1800) it works well with all of them...so
Posted by Ginz
Orange does also have 900Mhz networks in Switzerland
Posted by torshammer
@bucheral @ginz I think thats why it was called World due to its triple band ability. Could be used in the whole GSM world... now even equal to the real world.
@Stolleman I think there is a post early on in this thread about Uhuru
@ginz I will check Bertha info
Posted by bucheral
@ginz:
ok what is my orange sim card 900 or 1800? Test:
I put it into a PH337, the fone works properly
I put it into a GH388, the fone says "only emergency calls"
I put a sunrise/swisscom 900 card into the PH337, the fone says "only emergency calls"
I put the same card into the GH388, the fone works properly
voilà: The R380World works with both cards

Posted by torshammer
@ginz I like those hands-on trials...

LTE was in 3GPP release 8 sometimes late 2008. That's why I am curious about Bertha having it 2007.
Ericsson showed end-to-end trials mid 2008 I think.
@all I included a status column for prototypes, limited editions, concept ...
Link In our work in progress
Take a look how it works. Should we have a category released or should we leave it empty?
Posted by Ginz
Okay, according to your tests, the R380w should also support 1800..
@Torshammer: "World editions" at that time were mostly dual-band, supporting the 900Mhz and the 1900MHz. That's why I was asking.
Check for example the I888 World and the T28 World: Wikipedia
Same at Nokia. There was a Nokia 8850 (900/1800) and a Nokia 8890 (900/1900)
Posted by bucheral
@torshammer
great, thanks! What do you think? Will we ever be able to complete this list?

@ginz, well I just discovered that my R380e works with both cards too.....
Posted by bucheral
@ginz: I put my orange card into I888 World, it works fine!
now I want to try with T28World.....
ok Orange card does not work with T28World, only emergency calls...
I don't understand all this!

You can see in the EXIF that I took this picture in March 2007 and demonstrating this device with only UMTS won't be something worthy to show. And as you can see in several other documents, Bertha was the development platform from EMP for LTE
Google: "Ericsson Bertha LTE"
Posted by torshammer
@ginz Ok, almost convinced. But it was a not ready standard version.
@bucheral Time Will tell if we get finished. Well, I guess it Will never be finished but maybe 99%
Posted by torshammer
@all Here is another image of Bertha. Does anyone have it in their collection?
Posted by Ginz
Nope.... I've never heard someone who claimed to have it.
I asked the person who demonstrated it to me what would happen if I stole one (because there were at least 8 of these devices overthere . He told me that he would run after me, because these devices costed a lot of money. And if I would succeed that he lost his job, so I decide not to steel one

Here you can see. 4 on this side, 4 on the other side:

Posted by tranced
@Torshammer: is that a fastport at the bottom?
@Ginz: you're a good boy!
BTW, not a chance of getting the image bigger?

Yes, that's a fastport. But strangely it didn't contain a MemoryStick Duo Pro, but a (Micro)SD card

Big enough?
