Hey guys, great idea! We've lately seen a nostalgic spark come up in this forum, which is something very rare in such technolngical portals such as esato. This is why i think we should be proud that apart from great contemporary technologies, we also have a great history to cherish! Peace(Btw, my name's also ivan ;-)

ericsson history? ok how about there T35
T35???? you think. don't you know guys the phone that was to advanced for its time. there's a pic in the prototype section on my site. and an article will folow shortly

Posted by BobaFett
What is d add of your site? Never heard of T35, only T36. Any oldtimer u own?

Posted by bart
nope a T35 is like a something to advanced. i know your on wap and can't see the site, but when your on pc really cheak it out, only a handfull of people knew about this phone. and i forgot it myself untill recently i found it back on and old cd-rom. so here it is. specs to folow in 3days (i'm out of town )

Posted by vr
my opinion.. the nicest phone ever produced..
T28

the most durable in my hands.. GH337
I really used it to hammer nails into wall..
and the phone was usable after that:)

uglier was that plastic soapbox a2618 or somthing:P

Posted by BobaFett
Oh yes, d metal piece around d housing was a really usefull thing. Its a pity they stopped 2 use it. Just as d keypad on earlier fones. They lasts even 2day.

Posted by stewie
I saw some pics of t35 long time ago on one site. Today I tried opening that site but it's not there anymore :-(What's the difference between t35 and t39?

Posted by BobaFett
Any1 using R320 or R380 yet? How long lasts d batt of R380? Never had it, hope 2 find 1 if poss.

Posted by Aivar
I have Ericsson GH 174 at home. With battery and able to work I bought it two years ago just for fun - cost less than 0,15 USD.

Posted by BobaFett
Lucky man! I have an 172, my friend use it as car fone. Batt runs only if constantly charching. Do like d red screen.

Posted by wapt
I still use R380s sometimes. The battery seems to be 950mAh and last for 2 days, or max 3 days if not many calls. The battery comes with R380e has more capacity.

Posted by BobaFett
Wow! What about d 320 or 520? My 2. fone til now-a-days is an 520 yet. Rather sell any of my fones, but this 1 never!

Posted by ts_666
t35? i looked all over the net, couldn't find any pictures. anybody care to share? btw bart, i checked your site, but the point is that you don't have any names of the prototype phones, so unless, you are REALLY well informed about ericsson prototypes, you won't really get them. anybody care to to say which the pictures of the t35 are on bart's site? www.usep.com (if i remeber correctly)

Posted by BobaFett
just visited usep. where r there d fones? visit this all of u: http://www. europeanmobiles. com and go 2 ericsson . u ll love it!

@ts_666
yea... some of them look suspiciosly photoshopped
anyways... the t35 is waaay at the bottom, beside the two t36/t39s
http://users.pandora.be/usep/prototypes.htm

Posted by BobaFett
has any1 of u got a prototype in his/her collection. i mentioned once in a thread, that i almost bought a T36, but we couldnt deal a price with d guy. it was d yellow 1 wich is shown everywhere. fone book and sms worked fine on it, d other features freezed, even I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT...

Posted by ts_666
@Shawo
you mean the fold out thing? yeah i see it thanx mate dosen't look too appealingt though.

i like the "t68 with flip" aka t40 (it says so on the screen) i know its photoshop, but if it was flat like a t28/39 it would have been a great idea for the time (plus a colour screen, hehe)

Posted by BobaFett
donnow d name of d proto used by James Bond 4 wheelins a car, but do liked it. what about real oldtimres, like 198, 388. sometimes i use d 388. 4 calls and sms works perfect. my prob with 688 and 868-888 was d placing of d arrows.

Posted by scritch
My GH337 was the first GSM mobile I ever had... it was all the rage at the time and everyone had one. Battery life sucked and your head got warm, but hey! Who cared?

Regards,
Shane.

wow. a real treasure! god i was happy 2 get a 388 after 337. i could write sms. weird, but i am still facinated of its display. unfortunately i didnt have a plug charger, so i had 2 remove every time d batt from fone. it was a passion 2 wait few hours use it again! of course i still have both of them.

Posted by ajack
@bobafett:

R320 last 3 days on my GSM 1800 network. Full charge, ultraslim battery.

R380 lasts 2 days, GSM 1800, full charge, std battery.

Posted by BobaFett
great results! what makes me a bit nervous at R520 is d standby and talk time. it goes sometimes crazy, think it depends on d features like screensaver and powersave mood. d sby anf talk time was on t28 and r320 more stabil. however, my good old r520 works with bus-11 3-4 days long, if not much in use.

Posted by stewie
I had R320s for almost two years.The phones was really great:phones sms memory,great battery life,IR port,TETRIS...
The phone is slow,but I still like it.
About the battery life:I managed to get four days of active use (sms was still free then,calling someone every 5 minutes,sync phonebook and sms's every day and phone was whole night).FOUR DAYS.
@boba
sorry i couldn't reply 'till now,I've been very busy yesterday and probably will be this whole week.School...

Posted by BobaFett
@ivan dont worry, do what u have 2 do in first line!Do u miss d flip on d new models of SE? Think it was a kind of tm 4 /// . I remember d time then ebody upgraded T10 4 T18 just 2 have voice dialling.

Posted by stewie
yes,i do.i don't wanna t68i with a flip but almost every day i use my friends t39 to surf the net (he's using my t68i as an IR modem for his laptop - i don't know why but it's faster than his t39).
i wanted to by t39 after my r320s but i couldn't find it anywhere so i'm stuck with t68i...

Posted by BobaFett
T39 is a real rarity. I had 1 4 a short time, but i rather kept R520. Think 2night make a big clean up in my /// museum. Has anybody used d Irda port on 888? Never had d chance 2 test it.

Has anybody got d satelite fone of /// ? Sorry, dont know d name of it. Its antenne amazed me always!

This message was posted from a T610

Posted by stewie
What's the shape of the antenna?

Posted by BobaFett
It has a long and collapsible antenne. Looks great with it!

Posted by wapt
bobafett> I had used SH888 for GSM data IR connection for some years since 1999. Still keep the IR modem in my Windows98 system.

Posted by BobaFett
thats what i like in d relicts, someway they was made 4 d eternity. 2day we c almost d opposite of this point. use it 2 month long, than drop it away, cos u have 2 get d newest model. dont misunderstand me, i do agree on someway with d new marketing, but i liked d old better. any1 with sat fone of /// ???????????????????????????????

@daredevil we would like 2 discuss and share opinions about former /// times. its not a must 2 like /// , but i dont think its too much 2 ask u 4 usefull and acceptable posts. if u would do d favoure and clear us up d basic of your opinion of ///, we could have a normal conversation.

Posted by vanquish
@bobafett

i dont want to start arguments. but i just think that ericssons technology was good. but the designers were so shit. SE is minimalist, but ericsson seem to have these weird designs that dont go with me. plus they are large. very large. And everyone still wants one? the t28 was nice, but some of the massive ones i just don't find appealing. and it annoys me when people talk about them so much. They are in the past.

I must stress that i dont want to fall out. but sometimes i say things when im in a bad mood. and i like to pick on ericsson likers! lol

Posted by BobaFett
C, it works by u too! Conversation. We made this thread with d hope 2 find more ppl who liked, like and will like /// . I like 2 chat about d old times. Your arguments r more than welcome here, cos u r not an /// freak, so discussions with an outsider could b more interesting. Cheers 2 uk :-) what fone u have?

Posted by vanquish
p800 but my mate had t28 very nice for its time. still quite small. i like small!

Posted by BobaFett
and what will b your next one? how do u like r380, ever tried or used it?

Posted by vanquish
my next phone? never thought. the p800 works fine for me.

i do like that ericsson phone from tommorrow never dies though. wish the bmw came with it!

Posted by ts_666
i have my t39 here, one of the most beautiful phones ever made in my opinion! the proportionality, wow! i think it should be voted as the greatest phone of all time!

Posted by Cytech

had a collection of some old Ericssons phones before, but scrapped most of them when I moved a few months ago... among them a prototype version of R380s. But still have a R380e in my collection, but never use it anymore, it's way too big

Posted by BobaFett
@cytech did u ever used or tried d sat fone of ///?

Posted by Cytech

have seen it.... but never tried it...

i used the Ericsson satellite phone when i travelled in japan (i have a post somewhere here) it does work and is dual mode (has gsm mode). i felt really unique when i was in tokyo and everybody flashes their new flip phone and i have a strange looking phone with an even stranger looking antenna!

Posted by stewie
@boba
i wil try that today on my friends t39m.you're sure nothing could happen...? cuz he would kill me if it does...
and where can I find the pics of this satellite ericsson phone...?

Posted by bart
here on some specs of phones to clear some questions in some previeus posts.
T35: sort of communicator 4MB internal memory, big screen, bluetooth, full keypad, MMC support, MP-3. abit of a competitor agains the nokia 9210.sadly it was never lauched because it was 2 advanced for its time. (pic can be found on http://www.usep.be in the prototype section the only pic with the sites name on it)
T36: a T39 but with a T28 design.
T39: T39 but with new flip, smaller antenna, GPRS and other colors.

Posted by stewie
about t36:it is t28 design,only it doesn't have bluetooth.
t39 is a MACHINE!!! such a small phone with a lot of functions...

Posted by BobaFett
T36 is d same design as T39, donnow sure its features. Like d yellow housing and black keypad

Posted by bart
T36 has bluetooth and hscd (not gprs)

Posted by BobaFett
What do think of T65? Think its a great fone, had probs with d placing of d sim and d small buttons.

Posted by stewie
@sorry bart,i thought it doesn't have bt.i know that it has gprs though...
@boba
i don't like t65 too much:bad keypad,doesn't look good...

Posted by BobaFett
Yeap, not d best fone of /// , but do liked d features! Used it 4 some month long, had never probs with it, sometimes freezed, but that was acceptable.
