Apple CEO Tim Cook
has announced that iOS 5.1 is available to download from today, at the new iPad launch event in San Francisco.

Don't expect anything groundbreaking though, as iOS 5.1 is just a minor update bringing a refreshed camera app,
multi-language dictation and a personal hotspot function.

Cook said "iOS 5.1 also works seamlessly with iCloud", which will allow you to store your content virtually and then wirelessly stream it to your iPhone, iPad or iPod – updating content across all devices when it is changed on one.

My battery life was acceptable before this update, but 5.1 made it better, I'm really pleased with it.

Battery life wasn't to bad on mine beforehand

So I will try n get down to see someone at apple about
It when I can no biggie tho at the moment btw

Battery life also improved for me on my IP4S - previously not an issue either. I'm MOST impressed over the recovery of tower signal after being lost due to building structure. Where I work the elevators previously killed the reception for every cellphone (I work in a Telus building so employees work on 8 floors vs my employers' 3 floors). When I leave in the lobby and walk to the Union station (subway, cross-country train, and intercity train services) - which is connected to a Hockey/BasketBall stadium it takes roughly 45 seconds to get from the lobby to both station/stadium. its an indoor walkthrough. previous to iOS5.1 I'd never get a signal - now it takes about 10-15seconds to get a signal

Stability seemed to drop with Mail though (filing emails into sub-folders with Exchange connected mailbox).

Awaiting:
Out of Office auto reply feature - this is getting LONG in the tooth Apple
Ability to collapse sub-folder structure. (I have 15 sub-folders in my Exchange Mailbox, others at work have over 42-80. Can you imagine for them how frustrating it is to File into any sub-folder hierarchy?!)
Flag function needs an reminder feature attached to it!
(adding a flag to an email is useless to me in Exchange. I cannot colour code it, nor can I add a reminder, so 3 days later I have to search for flagged emails ... oh wait there is not Search for FLAGGED items either!!)
