T-Mobile is introducing a new mobile phone and data plan that it claims is unique to the provider. Called The Full Monty, it offers completely unlimited calls, texts and Internet access with no fair use restrictions And you can use it for tethering as well. You can find out more at www.t-mobile.co.uk/TheFullMonty

Posted by Bonovox
Damn is that also for existing customers like me??

Posted by julias
Yes existing T-Mobile users can upgrade to the new contract at any time.

Posted by fbloise
i mean, i pay £35 every month, changing to one that offers that much is way better

Posted by hihihans
Better read the smallprint twice

Posted by etaab
So what is the catch ?

Im coming off O2 this year now im contract is well and truly over because im sick of the poor coverage, especially in work.

Posted by adsada
You're wrong it does include unlimited calls, well only to other T mobile users. To all other numbers you get 2000 minutes (tbf that does sound like unlimited )

Nope calls ARE truly Unlimited as well to ALL Networks at £41 per month, which will also get you a BlackBerry 9900 for free or a 16GB iPhone 4S for £29.

Posted by adsada
Ah, I thought there was only one contract (the £36 one)

Posted by julias
£36 per month, which offers unlimited data, texts and calls to other T-Mobile customers, with 2,000 minutes worth of calls to other networks.

£41 per month, the next step-up plan also offers completely unlimited calls to other networks.

£46 per month is unlimited everything.

I wonder if this has visual voicemail doesn't seem to say?

Posted by Bonovox
My current tariff now is 600 mins(which I never get through) unlimited texts & data like browsing & email is UNLIMITED. But the DOWNLOAD allowance is 500mb/month. But obviously they had a change of heart now to be in direct competition to Three. At least T Mobile NEVER charge you if you go over.

Posted by fluke9
Do they charge for text delivery reports.

Posted by Bonovox
No they don't. Instead they told me the cost of outside text allowance is now 12p

Hmmm.

How about Customer Services, UK Based ???

Posted by badassmam
T-Mobile used to charge me £8 per MB within my allowance. I asked them to change my price plan and I ended up paying £20 extra for that month. Three is the way to go.

Posted by fluke9
Thats the problem 3 CS is the worst so gonna go over to tmobile full mointy.

Posted by Bonovox
T Mobile currently doing iphone 4S on the Full Monty for £99 £36 per month. Good deal
http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/
I also read they are allowing tethering too

Posted by julias
Yes they are allowing completely unlimited tethering (no catch)

I would rather pay the £46 and get Unlimited Everything with a completely free 16GB iphone 4S thrown in as well, seems like a better deal to me but each to their own.

Being a T Mobile customer myself I hope it does not start to cripple the network. T Mobile must be confident. So far they been reliable

Posted by julias
Remember that T-Mobile are not what they used to be they are now "Everything Everywhere" with their recent merger with Orange so are better capable of handling user traffic since bother T-Mobile and Orange will be riding each others networks so in effect your getting the benefit of 2 networks with T-Mobile now.

Posted by Bonovox
Yes true. I get good reception everywhere these days better than O2.

Posted by fluke9
So are there CS UK based ??

Possible make or break on that.

Posted by Bonovox
They're based in Phillipines but they are much better than Indian call centres. Some parts of customer service is still in UK I think in Wales. But I have never had any problems with them they been good and I have rarely ever had to call them.

Posted by etaab
I rarely need to contact customer services thankfully.

Only network ive had serious problems with was Vodafone. Sick of O2's poor coverage in my place of work also.

Maybe T-Mobile are pretty confident about their network being able to cope as they're testing their LTE ?

Posted by Bonovox
Oh good news then. It's about time soon we had 4G we are too behind I get good speeds on T Mobile. They have come a long way since One2One days eh??

AFAIK One2One was a different company entirely and was simply bought by T-mobile in Germany in 2002. I remember being on One2one at that time and receiving communications from them that T-mobile would be taking over. Back then, O2 was known as BT Cellnet and was relatively unpopular amongst my friends.

So for me, when i do eventually move on from my N8 it'll more than likely be with T-mobile. I will have come full circle. I started my mobile phone experience with Orange, then Vodafone, T-mobile, O2, 3 and now probably on my way back to T-Mobile.

Posted by Bonovox
I have been through them all too but been happiest on T Mobile. Whenever I was with the other networks I was always on the phone to CS with issues. T Mobile I have called 5 times in 2 years. Also coverage is better than ever even before the Orange take over. A while ago T Mobile were struggling which seems odd to me they are the best. Back in the early days I always loved Orange the best.

Posted by fluke9
Think i will go with the £36 iPhone deal.

Posted by Bonovox
Yeah the unlimited text T Mobile calls and internet and 2000 minutes is surely enough for most. I have 600 minutes and I get through less than 100

Posted by etaab
Mines 1200 minutes, which i usually come very close to using up. I have to be quite careful at times so 2000 minutes to other networks should do me fine. The other half is on T-mobile so that'll save me 1000 minutes a month.

Posted by Bonovox
Yes. I used to use up all my minutes when I used to talk for hours on the phone to my Italian friend. She would talk for Italy. She is back in Italy now thank god lol

Posted by etaab
Ive always rated O2 higher than other networks but when i last changed my bolt on to include unlimited (500mb unlimited), they said its £7.50 a month. For everyone else, it was £5 a month. Why was i paying 50% more ? because mine was a 2009 contract, whereby the 2010 contracts included the same for less. So that totally annoyed me.

I find O2 to be increasingly poor for coverage, im bored of having to stand near the windows at work to get a signal, 6 feet into the building in any direction and the signal drops out. O2 are the only network who cannot get a signal inside my place of work.

Posted by Bonovox
I got sick of O2 for rubbish 3G and constant congestion issues on the network. Always getting that timed out sorry on the screen. I recently read though that many Orange customers before Christmas were up in arms over price hike of 4.34% but Orange said in their terms already so people who never read the small print were not able to get out the contract.

One more question, can you view your usage online on tmobile ??

The same way you can on Opoo pay monthly ??

Posted by Bonovox
Yes on My T Mobile

Posted by fluke9
Thank you sir.

That swings it, 3 yesterday offered me the iPhone 4S 16gb on the one plan for £36 a month 24 months for £69 up front, dodgy gits £1 a month more than it was but £30 cheaper on the upfront than tmobile.

WOW a massive £6 over 24 months.

Plus not unlimited on the texts.

The better CS, no delivery report cost and being able to check your usage rather than having to wait for 3 to generate your bill before you can check what you used or who you called.

Something also good about T Mobile online bills is that their systems catch up with recent calls, texts etc very quickly. When I sued to have O2 or Vodafone online billing some calls or texts would not appear on the unbilled usages for ages. T Mobile it appears really fast. Their systems seem more advanced. Not sure about Three though.

Posted by fluke9
3 are a joke with their billing.

My new bill was produced the 21st of each month, that was the only time I could see usage for call, or I had to call CS.

Answer machine can only be turned off via CS, be glad when I'm gone.

Three are great for data but when I was with them I always had dropped calls. And that was as recent as a year & a half ago. The issue with O2 was crap for online billing. You could make a chargeable call or something & it would not appear on the billing for days. Their systems are so behind. Never had an issue with T Mobile except only once when for a day a while ago my 3G had vanished. But then I heard that work had been going on so fair enough. But never really had any network issues. EDIT: Just had an email from Buymobilephones.net they are doing iphone 4S 16 gig free on Orange for £31

If everything is unlimited would you really need to ?? my O2 access is able to track my usage, but it runs 48 to 72 hours behind. Stupid.

On 3 I was getting charges and had to phone their crapola CS to find out.

No on T Mobile I noticed calls or texts or MMS appears about sometimes less than an hour later

Posted by etaab
Well i might not be able to wait for a new phone to be released to get this. My Nokia N8 of the last 15 months has BRICKED !!! - ended a call and the phone just vibrated, went dark and refuses to turn on.

Tried everything this past 90 minutes except getting a T6 screwdriver to remove the battery and clear the memory. I have one of those over at my mothers house i left there when i moved out years ago. So tomorrow i'll go round after work and get it.

So now im back to the old trusty N95 8gb, which is falling to bits. Should i get a 4S ? SGS2 ? or the Xperia S ?

or a Galaxy Note. Not happy at all.

Posted by masseur
its virtually impossible to brick an iphone if that is your concern.
many claim to have done so, especially on beta firmware, but it is always easily recoverable once put into DFU mode by a simple sequence

I suspect though, that you will revive your N8. My sons N8 has appeared bricked a few times but suddenly come back to life afte a few power cycles and connecting the charger. Good luck!

Posted by Bonovox
I would get the Xperia S or Galaxy Note despite its large size it's rather tempting. I seen the other day a Galaxy Note free on contract for less than £30 but forget where now.

Posted by masseur
not sure why you're recommending the S as you don't give any reason, and your cheap Note suggestion means not alot without a link as I've been after one this last week or two but even now googling can't find one for less than £41/month for free, which is rediculous.

Please provide links and reasons otherwise these posts on Esato are fairly worthless.

thanks!

edit: btw, best I have found lately is from HotUkDeals, which I am quite tempted by as I really do want one of these

Well i did manage to revive my N8 after removing the battery, which was a bit worrying as it was the first time id opened the phones case to do so. It was relatively easy, two screws, remove a plastic holder then slide the battery out. When i put it back in, it worked fine.

It would seem my N8 went into some strange sleep. The screen was totally blank, no buttons worked, no vibration when operating the slide lock and even holding down the power button for 8 seconds didnt even work (the forced restart). The phone was however still on, just completely unresponsive to outside input and gave no output. It essentially was bricked - the first phone only ever to brick on me - but when i called it from my girlfriends phone it rang on her phone. So it was still switched on. Very bizarre !!

If it didnt work, i would probably have gone for either the 4S or Note, more likely the Note.

I have seen a few videos on removing the N8 battery. Does not look too hard
