I've done a search on Google and found nothing - is anyone else having issues with o2 UK?

Yesterday I was receiving texts atleast 4 hours late and not even receiving any. Today, I can't even access their network.

Is this just me, or is this a local or even nationwide problem?

Where are you on the east coast? It could be localised if your in a sparsely populated area or a rural area. Just a thought. I have not heard anything today as yet about the network going down. How is your signal there? A text coming through late problem can either be down to poor or no coverage or the other network not delivering the texts on time. It might not be O2 with the text problem. This text problem has been known to affect all networks I am afraid it happened to me on Orange. If your sending text & they are not getting them then they may be out of coverage. As for the network being down it sounds like it's your local mast. Have you called O2 to see if there is a problem in your postcode area? I know in recent times O2 have had their problems but things seem to be slowly improving lately.

Yeah, I live in a market town near Skegness.

My messages are still taking a while to come through to me, I purposly call the 4444 pay as you go top up line to 'push' my messages through. (I'm on contract btw).

My girlfriend thinks I'm ignoring her, but I'm simply not receiving texts. Plus, when I try and make a phone call, it always fails the first time saying 'connection error'. I'm guessing from what you've said, it's just a localised problem. Let's hope it gets sorted soon if it is.

The signal seems okay now, I had none whatsoever when I posted this topic. But it's the fact messages are still getting 'stuck'.

Is your girlfriend on O2 aswell? If not then it's the other network not delivering the text not O2. If she is on O2 & she is in same area then it's gotta be O2 localised. I visited Skegness last June(not much to see there) & I had great 3G there on Orange but not sure what o2 is like there. Is it patchy? If the signal keeps jumping it's probably the nearest mast is "congested" & when your phone is in standby the signal drops.

No, she is on T-Moblie. My cousin who is on o2 is having basically the same problem as me, and also a friend of mine too.

The joys of Skeg-vegas! (not!!). Yeah, when I go there my 3G signal seems fine, but the town I live in is like the land that time forgot. There's only like 2000 people live here, and half of them are over 60! I'm guessing a third of them don't know what fire is!!

The signal in my town is a bit patchy, but I stayed in last night, and where I live, my signal is always 100% and I always receive text messages on time normally.

Then it's T Mobile's fault not O2 for the text problem. T Mobile is not delivering them right away. It happened to me with someone I know who is on 3UK the text from her came through hours late but mine were fine texting her.

I had a strange problem some years ago. I was on O2 but when I went to visit south Wales my signal was fine but when I got onto south beach in Tenby I could not use my phone despite signal being fine. If I went back to the top of the cliff off the beach I could use it but with same signal
