Hi mate.

Regarding your bit on the lack of task manager. Just to let you know that in the 'Running Applications' menu, If you press and hold the application you wish to close, another menu pops up with the option to Open or Exit.

So it does!

Now why aren't these things simple and obvious like on UIQ?

Because of the wide array of Free/paid aftermarket software. Although this worked to grow the S60 platform to what it was up to 2yrs ago (thriving), now hinders it.

Just read the review, not bad.

Is there no task manager by pressing the center button for 2seconds?
Power management, although you can turn off the GPS/WiFi when not in use or intended for use for long periods of time may increase battery life, its still very poor.

You're not the only one reportedly having poor battery life performance. I'm VERY dissapointed in SE on the Satio; its only potential is newer firmware to address these issues or Symbian^2 OS ported middle of 2010; by then the sales would've dropped long before.

I still WANT an phone - and I may end up getting the W995a still, but I need a powerful calendar (something that is lacking on the iPhone for me; 3rd party apps pickup the slack well). Right now X2/Rachel are the only one's by currently have my attention.

I should probably edit the paragraph regarding the task manager.

Holding down the menu button does bring up a list of running applications, but there's no obvious button to end any program; just to switch to them.

As posted above, pressing down a selected open program then pops up another mini-menu to let you close the program. Not like the W960i, where there's a clear and obvious button to just end one or all programs in one sweep.

Had a look at the satio in the o2 shop where they had it out on display. After using my gf's iPhone to browse the web (and even write this post) I found that the messaging due to it's resistive screen was rubbish. Maybe you'd get used to it but that will take some ime I'm guessing. The whole phone is really clunky. No vids to test out the playback (would guess it's the same as the samsung 8910 as it shares similar hw and CPU.

Just disapointed that the resistive screen makes that much difference... Bring on a tegra version of the 8910 on android.

i've tested it. and i have faced some issues with Battery drainage and software lagging. this however can NOT be attributed to Symbian OS. look at Samsung Omnia 8910 HD. they have managed to tweek the same Symbian, with their TouchWiz UI, the device is blazing fast, everything works just perfect!

they have even rolled their XELL1 firmware update, which made the device even better.

sorry, but for me, Satio is a No. bring on the X10
