is it my phone or my memory card please help

I have a k800i and i brought my self a sony 512 m2 memory card.This worked fine untill a few days ago but now every time i switch the phone on it asks if i want to format the card and if i say yes it formats it then says the card is not inserted and if i say no it still says "no card inserted".Please can anyone help is it my phone or the card? both are only a few weeks old thanks

Update i cleaned the connections on my memory card and it seems to be working now thanks

bring your fone to SE Service Center to upgrade the firmware. i am afraid you got the old firmware on your fone.

Thanks mate so its the phone(as in it needs a software update)and not the card i sak this because the *******thing has done it again and now it will not show the memory card at all p.s anyone no the nearest se place in nottingham

It is not necessarily the phone. If you bought this memory stick recently, perhaps on ebay, you might have gotten a fake one!

Fakes display a behaviour like you describe!

Thank you for that but all i get is the name of the review but nothing else i will try it in my pc and email the seller and yes it was off ebay

One other thing could you please let me no how i find what software i have on my phone then i will post it on hear and you could tell me if its up to date.As far as i can tell everything else on the phone is working ok
