I thought that it might be a good idea to have a thread where we can post all our suggestions to SE. Hopefully any SE market researchers browsing Esato will take note.

1. Please make sms alert customisable.
2. Some people have more than one home or mobile numbers.

Make a mid range phone with symbian (i.e one that is in the same category as N6600 and N7610). I see no point in buying the P900 when it is far too expensive and designed with the business user in mind.

Such a phone i believe has been planned by SE to compete with n6600.

This is a good idea but it's been done and failed in the past. I think the only way it will work is if the Esato mods actually moderate the process (I know they're busy as it is). Here's how it might work.
The mods themselves start a thread for each phone of high interest, e.g. K700, P900, Z600, etc. If we have a firmware modifiable idea we post it and give a reason why it would be a good change. We leave it up to the mods' discretion to judge what's a good suggestion and what's not (or if Esato supports polls, they could offload the decision to the readership). They maintain a list of the changes they (we) deem worthy and the reasons why.
Slowly these lists should fill with good suggestions, and if we ever get any SE reps to look at them, they might carry some weight.

Indeed I can recall 3 or 4 similar threads to this in the last 6 months or so but who really knows if take note.
I guess it doesn't hurt to keep making new, and repeating old, suggestions in the hope that someone is paying attention so that we, the consumer, can get what we want.
I think the biggest "want" I can recall from our members is user sleectable message alert tones

Hire a quality manager, who has authority, to oversee mfg and repair.

We could also have forms to fill in, in triplicate, and long queues for people to stand in as they wait to post. Seriously though, the aim of this thread was to allow members a chance to post their suggestions in as simple a manner as possible, I see no need for any moderator involvement beyond the usual. I also intended that suggestions, regarding all SE products, could be made here so as to have them centralised in one place, instead of scattered across Esato.

I think the thread that we really want is "what would you need in your next firmware upgrade?"

More memory is a must for modern phones as they take on an increasing number of mult-media functions and 3G becomes more dominant.

The noble aim of your thread has been the aim of a handful of other noble threads. But if a 500+ Esato poster didn't see them, how do you expect SE management to find them?
I just think that if our suggestions aren't in organized simple (childlike?) chunks with proven demand from many readers, then our suggestions won't be heard let alone considered. Of course, the whole thing could be in vain to begin with.
PS. There seems to have been something along the lines I'm suggesting 2 years ago, but I don't know what came of it.

This is just a single thread on one mobile phone forum; I am not so conceited to think that SE will suddenly take our ideas onboard just because they are in this thread. SE will adopt those suggestions people mention most often and, which are practical; hopefully this thread will stimulate people to post such suggestions. I do understand your point and I do appreciate your suggestion, but I just don't think that is wholly necessary. My biggest problem with it is that members suggestions would become dependent on the moderators.
P.S. I'm not too sure what my post count has to do with noticing past threads.

i suspect you are expected to have seen the birth and growth of every single thread
meanwhile: MORE DETAILS PER CONTACT would be nice
also the harsh enforcing of customised software seems a bit overdone to me why are users disallowed the choice of having unbranded software?

I wouldn't mind seeing an integrated virtual keyboard in the next SE smartphone.
