Nokia Recognized As One of the Most Respected Companies in China in 2004
10 June 2005 by axxxr For the third consecutive year, Nokia has been recognized as one of the most respected companies of the year in china. The recognition was given by the Management Case Center of Peking University and the Economic Observer, one of the most influential business publications in China. The award for 2004 paid special attention to social responsibility, innovation, operations in and commitment to local market. In recognition for its outstanding performance in these areas, Nokia was one of the 20 companies awarded in 2004. Attending the award ceremony in Peking University, Ms. Hera Siu, Vice President of Nokia (China) Investment Co., Ltd. commented: "Nokia is honoured to be recognized again as one of the most respected companies in China. Nokia is highly committed to sustainable development and takes seriously its responsibility towards the local economy and communities." Nokia has been an active contributor to the Chinese economy and telecommunications development over the past years, and is the largest exporter in the Chinese mobile telecommunications industry.
