Having invested almost a year in this forum, i think im as qualified as many others to say that recently its pretty well gone to shit. Why are so many long timers jumping ship to other forums after being nurtured here for so long? Im making a plea to all long time and knowledgeable members to apply their wisdom and make this forum once again the greatest! Ive noticed that the quality of posts and discussions here has dropped. Theres a lot of new p900 owners asking questions which were asked, answered and archived a year ago when the p800 was released. People have been complaining about multiple threads and so on; its the responsibility of the elders and moderators to answer these questions and lock the appropriate threads. Esato is a beautiful place, its the best forum to view with opera, all the others are messy and slow.... and in my opinion has the most colourful characters of any board ive visited. Calling all elders and moderators; get to work, participate and lets make this forum the best again!!!

ummm switch...there was sort of an existing (albeit recently abandoned) discussion of this sort started by fijbert.
the esato that once was
all in all i think esato is doing ok. in the 9 months i've been reading the forums there have been peaks and troughs in quality, although i must say some of the more abusive threads from the past couple of days have left a lot to be desired.
i usually find that if there's a flurry of dumb-ass threads then it will be over within a few days. and having made the occasional dumb-ass post myself they don't really hurt that much, in moderation of course.

I agree with what was said in the first post. I'm no saint, but haven't we all posted some rubbish at times. For the last couple of days tho I haven't posted anything but read the post that have been made. To tell you the truth the quality of posts have dropped, questions have been repeated. Hopefully the repeated questions will drop now that search has been included for wap users. But wouldn't the only way to get people back on the forums be to give them something no one offers?

The increase in repeated questions was really to be expected when the New Topic feature was introduced to WAP users. As mentoined, and I agree, this might drop now as search is avalable on WAP as well. One more thing, I've said this so many times now that I consider adding it in my signature, when you see things you dislike PM a moderator and it will be looked at as soon as that mod gets the PM.

Just a quick question. You mention that if we see something we don't like to pm a mod. Is this feature going to be implemented (big word for me that) for wap users?

I tried to post this 4 times from wap and i get an error saying " The thead u r looking for doesn't exist!! " This is a new bug i|ve never encontered before!
Anyway, i wanted to say that i am here almost 1 year and a half and i guess this forum serves its purpose just fine. The growing number of member lead to more junk and over-questionings but this is a normal thing. After Tranquil posted the "infamous" thread about Esato quality, I`ve seen an increased moding job done by Masseur especially and Tranquil. This is a good thing...a lot of locked topics , in general, a good job. Also, I think u can`t stop trash being posted as u can't ban certain ppl for being stupid ( see Malinda`s thread entitled "SE will go down this year"). I didn`t mean to be harsh but a reality check-up is needed among some of our esteemed members.
So, about things need (in my point of view) are: more stickys regarding certain subjects that every1 is keen to know, a FAQ like Wrath`s regarding the P800/P900 section and a general sweep in the forum. All these should be done sometimes. I am opened to any suggestions, i can help as i`ve always tried by responding ppl on things that i knew.I also found out about new things everyday. This is a place i surf all the time from wap and i like it cuz it breathes QUALITY

@Dean Lambert> it is already implemented on wap and also, if u have a t610 , u can check sato thru xhtml, where u also have the PM function.
U have to know the name of the mod ( Masseur or Tranquil) and PM them!

Then again sometimes posting questions that have already been asked can help. For example. I don't have a p900, yet after reading some of the answers on here i can answer some of the questions asked. As i mentioned earlier, the introduction of the search option for wap users is possibly the best thing this site has done for a while. Even tho some people won't use the option ( I forgot about it last night), but at least the choice is there for people. Been able to point out previous posts will help.

@steve-wilks: It's all about how you use the search. If you enter "t610" in the search you will get thousands of threads. If you specify your search better you can find almost everything...
like for example this :
Please stop saying use the search!

From my point of view the title "Lets fix Esato!!" is a bit false.
Esato as a site and its structure is perfect especially now that the posts shown at home page have been increased as well as the regional section.
Regarding posts that sometimes are uselless (including mine sometimes) I must agree that some are pointless and some are very usefull. Most of them I must say are usefull. But because of the difference between people and their interests we "judge and accuse" some posts. Still though some Esato users find them interesting.
Free will and opinion then, as long as its true. I mean I dont like some posts to spread rumours and unreliable information which are false.

@701 i don't use the T610 for wap, basically cos it would cost a fortune. I've had a look from this phone and still can't find the option to pm someone. I know there is a lot of T300 users that post via wap.
